Okay, the Fire are less than a week away from the first game since March. Can anyone (without looking it up) project the Fire's starting 11 for next week's game? I cannot and I am not even going to try. I think I could slot, maybe, four players in their positions (the admission of this makes me sad). If you think you can, go for it. The winner(s) receive the smug satisfaction with knowing either: 1) They have a great memory for the Fire's myriad of acquisitions since then end of last season or 2) They cheated their ass off and looked it up. (By the way, I could not even create a starting 11 after looking up the roster. That makes me doubly sad.)
Wicky has tons of options. Going to be very interesting to see who plays (and who doesn't). Am expecting the majority of the new Internationals will start. Same goes for Wicky's formation. I don't expect us to play with an abundance of caution.
I've recently been playing FM20 with the Fire's squad so I don't know if that's cheating or just having an unfair advantage. Aliseda - Beric - Frankowski Medran - Mihailovic Gimenez Bornstein - Calvo - Kap - Sekulic Kronholm Very possible that Navarro could start over Bornstein or Stojanovic could start over Djordje. I've also heard something about Pineda starting at centerback, but I don't know who he'd start over. Calvo looked shakey, but he's the captain and Kap didn't look that bad. Unless Kap's injured and I just forgot about that. I know he went down in the Seattle game, I don't remember much after that.
I don't suppose that is cheating...at least you can name the players. Better than most of us. No Sapong? He IS still on the team, right? I have given up, even on soccer games. The only game I play is FIFA20 mobile (which I have not played in months) and my entire team is made up of Germans now. I dumped all my Fire players when the Fire did.
I think that'll be the 11 (vs Nashville, anyway). Nice post. We actually have viable options (on paper) now. Go figure.
Plus Blanco and Harry Shipp- I remember reading their names over the course of the past few months, had to be related to them coming back to play for us, I'm sure.
Sapong's still here. I just don't see him starting over Beric, Aliseda, or Frankowski. Never wrong to have a super-sub.
That would be 12. Sure, the Fire have sucked for a while, but I don't think MLS will change the rules.
I really worry that Nery Castillo will not live up to all of the hype and excitement we are seeing and reading about. What if he proves to be a dud?
