Saka is so exciting. He's done everything that's been asked of him so far at a level that's uncommon for someone his age. I just hope the little boy inside him doesn't have a secret favorite club. Unless Memphis is dirt cheap I'd pass. But maybe that's the caliber of player we can get now.
If he's really been with us since he was 8, that would be a little hard to imagine. So let's not worry about that until/if that becomes an issue.
Seeing some reports from the Norwich post game presser that PEA made a few comments that are leading to speculation that extending his contract is a good possibility. Comments that I could find... “I’m really happy that Bukayo signed. We’ll see. We’ll talk with the club and see what happens. I’m really focused on the games." “Since Mikel is in we’re doing well. We’re working well. We have signs we’re improving,”
- i like sokratis but he does not seem remotely a fit for what arteta wants. - mustafi just . . . has to go. i can forgive being mediocre but i really, REALLY hate players who ********s up then immediately look for someone to blame. szczesny used to do that on EVERY. SINGLE. GOAL. - if arteta is keen on this 3-4-3 he has used last two games, i don't mind if kolasinac sticks around until we can get a better option. - as much as i like torreira - and i think he'd be a solid fit with this 3-4-3 - if he wants to go to italy, i'm okay with him going. honestly, i'd like to see one of nelson or willock - along with ESR - out on loan to get game time while the other sticks around to grab some here. i kind of want arteta to keep tinkering with the notion of saka as LB/LWB (especially as LWB if he keeps the 3-4-3). kierney's ability to stay on the trainer's table will give saka plenty of time. man, too bad our funds are short. this year offseason would have been a great time to go raiding teams that could use the funds. unfortunately, we are one of those.
so, uh, this is going to sound cruel but . . . uh, is there anyone at wigan that we could raid to help us?
Of course with interest rates low and Arse having little debt apart from the stadium thing which is a very low commitment, now is actually a time when the club could easily invest in the future at historically low interest rates.
Rumor mill is interesting this morning... - So after several weeks of rumors about Arsenal/Arteta rejecting the opportunity to sign Ceballos or extend his loan for next season, now we are supposedly talking to RM about keeping him. - Apparently we are also in talks with Barca for a "shock" swap of PEA & Duezy for Griezmann - The one interesting rumor is a link to 22yo DM Teun Koopmeiners from AZ Alkmaar. Supposedly Milan are negotiating and have offered 15m euro. At 22 he is in his 3rd season at AZ, has already been named captain and this season has made 42 appearances and scored 16 goals (mostly from PKs or FKs).
Oh good grief. Where's @mebeSajid and his cannon-to-the-sun. I would hope even a drunk Raul wouldn't think this deal is anything close to good.
I think Auba staying would have more to do with him not finding interest else where. Given his possible cost and age.
I’ve been skeptical about Ceballos, but the Norwich game is the best I’ve seen from him in Arsenal’s colors. If he plays like that every week he is well worth the rumored £36m to £40m fee.
Ceballos is not currently worth more than 30 I do t rate grieznan, I would not be looking for any Barca player atm to be honest we should be raiding the best young players from all the top leagues
Just listening to today's Arsecast, and they were discussing that if you were watching without the fake crowd noise, you heard Arteta specifically coaching Ceballos for most of the first half. They thought it was no coincidence that's also why Ceballos had his best game, and also said it would be difficult/impossible for Arteta to do this in a fully occupIED stadium. In general, we've been getting much better production from our midfield the last few matches. I don't think it's a coincidence that is why we are seeing better results.
For Griezmann? Cannon-to-the-sun would be too good for Raul. That's cannon-to-the-nearest black hole and being forced to watch Real Madrid effectively clinching the league at the Camp Nou while crossing the event horizon (meaning for all eternity).
In theory he shouldn't have to be coaching them up from the sideline as much next season. They should learn and become more effective without the constant chatter.
******** it, i'll take him over guendouzi right now just so he can leave. if we can get anywhere close to 30 for guendouzi and come back drop less than 20 for him, that would be a win. video seems to make it look like he could step in for xhaka as the distributor out of the back if he needs to leave at some point. or when he gets a red card/accumulate yellow cards again. and, after all the trouble we kept having for a while with PK, i wouldn't hate having someone who could put them away.
Arteta can’t coach the first touch, which was exceptional all game. I do agree with Yossarian, I want to see consistency over series of games.
