There's a LEGIT reason they're called "MASSHOLES". Some wear it as a badge of honor unfortunately. Yes, PG is beautiful. Funny story about Englewood: My wife is from NW Ohio (Lima/Bluffton) and her grandparents for the longest time (before I met them) used to have a small place in Englewood. When Mrs. KFP and I went to Fort Myers on our 5th year anniversary trip, she decided she wanted to see if we could find it. So we jumped into the convertible, drove up the Tamiami and started looking around trying to go off her 20 year old memories. We finally found the place. It was still in pretty good shape externally. Took some pictures, and then that Christmas, showed them to Grandma and Grandpa and they were just tickled pink. It was nothing for us to do, and I enjoyed the drive and exploring, but they got really teary eyed. It was clear that it meant a lot to them for us to do that and I'll never regret doing it. One of my better memories.
Amherst or Lowell? Back then, Lowell wasn't part of the UMass system yet and was just University of Lowell.
Back on topic...all of the Crew’s traveling party tested negative for COVID after arriving in Orlando.
I'd almost forgotten--Mrs KG's aunt and uncle also lived there, but we didn't realize it right away. And, we spent our honeymoon there, as my folks stayed up north to visit family. Ask you wife if she remembers the Red Pelican--it was a bit of a landmark as it was on Beach Rd close to McD's. My mom worked there for a number of years (it's gone now). She also may remember searching for shark's teeth--they are everywhere from Englewood Beach north to Venice.
Now lets check in on the players in Orlando Yummm... #MLSisBack pic.twitter.com/nelyLH9YsW— Omar Gonzalez (@Omar4Gonzalez) June 30, 2020 Catered by the Fyre Fest people?
No. Update on MLS food situation: source says the boxed meals are the "room service" options for players who couldn't make it to the actual meals in the dining area. Also sounds like players aren't being asked to pay for it themselves. -T— Total Soccer Show (@TotalSoccerShow) June 30, 2020
My guess was they have a daily stipend. Also, if you notice on the top of the paper in Omar's tweet.... "Available for while in quarantine after arrival"....
They are staying at the Swan and Dolphin, one of the higher end non-Disney resorts on the property. That menu is just for room service (which is always overpriced), there are an assortment of restaurants at the hotel they’ll be able to eat at.
Having seen the pricing for catering many 300+ person events at these types of hotels, that pricing is what you get.
Now I see what you are referring to. https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/six-fc-dallas-players-test-191421389.html
Wondering they can eat at the Boardwalk restaurants? There is good italian place and of course ESPN restaurant.
Reporting with @PaulTenorio: Multiple sources confirm that Columbus has a positive COVID-19 case. Test and result both came down yesterday. Team arrived in Orlando on Sunday.(The MiB Insider is gonna steal my job.) https://t.co/ghUYV2WLVG— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) July 2, 2020 We're seeing news about this across threads, but I'm choosing the resume one....Crew player confirmed testing positive, along with now 9 FCD players and a coach. An outbreak would almost certainly delay restart, right? I've heard Ohio classifies an outbreak at a group of 3 related cases....
This did happen in Germany to Dynamo Dresden. They delayed their games 2 weeks and then had them play twice a week until the they got caught up. Dresden got relegated. Mind you, they were in last place when the break came--but it didn't help any.
I just don't see how they're gonna be able to contain the spread inside the bubble now. The bubble has been popped. It would seem reasonable that none of the players who have tested positive, acquired the disease while they were in the bubble. But the fact that several players from different teams have tested positive and were inside the bubble for multiple days post quarantine before testing positive is a HUGE red flag. Orange County has increased their weekly average positive rate from less than 1% for the week starting 5/17 and has risen to over 16% for the week starting 6/21. That's a meteoric rise over six data points. For reference, Florida Dept of Health states the goal for positive tests is less than 10%. Orange County hasn't been there since the week beginning 6/7. If you're not familiar with where WDW is in Orange County, it's in the SW corner of the county. The neighboring counties of Lake, Polk, & Osceola all have 6/21 positive rates of 7.44%, 14.11%, & 14.19% respectively. So it's pretty likely that the employees working on site and entering the bubble everyday are also significantly high risk. If they continue to develop positive cases over the next couple days, they're gonna have to shut this thing down. As I understand it, not all teams are even on site yet, so the bubble itself isn't completely secure in terms of players/staff yet.
Does anyone expect professional soccer players who have the lungs of marathon runners to have trouble fighting off Covid? Honest question. This is a lung centric disease. This group of people have some of the best lungs on the planet. I’m honestly curious how this will turn out. There’s been much hype in the press about positive tests. Very very little about recoveries.
That microphone licking idiot NBA player was pretty fit, and he is still affected by Covid months after contracting it.
