I think Galvan was NOT a TAM/ GAM signing, lots of news out there that those signings (there has been 2 so far in MLS) are not "eligible" to play in this Tourney thing. Edit:Some news in Felipe's piece: LGP will not be eligible to play in Orlando because he is a TAM signing.Paul McDonough: "He comes into the TAM threshold, so the league will not let him play. If you’re a non-TAM then you can play. ... I don’t understand it. I don’t agree with it."— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) July 1, 2020
I don't think he was either, but it may also be different since we got him to sign a pre-contact in January and got all the paperwork dealt with already.
I think Galván signed with the Rapids back in January or so. Thus it sounds like this new rule on TAM/GAM wouldn't apply to him as it seems that it applies to players that teams are signing now - at least that's my interpretation of the situation.
At #26, what can Brown do for you? http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2020/07/rapids-history-by-numbers-26.html
I don't mind most of their picks, but a best XI should be XI players in some recognizable formation. What they're throwing out there is some random list of 11 players who couldn't all be on the field at the same time.
It's good to remember a guy like that. Obviously not great, maybe not even good given his wandering. But he was about as much as those teams had and he had some good moments. We thought he was a "breakaway speed only to blow the sitter" guy...until he left and Dominique Badji said, "hold my beer."

The late signing of Warner makes me wonder if Price is one of the Rapids Covid-19 guys, given our zero depth at his #6 position.
Roster News: The Colorado Rapids and Sam Nicholson have mutually agreed to terminate contract. We wish Sam all the best in the future.— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) July 2, 2020 Wow. Wonder what’s up?
I heard this as a rumor yesterday and just laughed it off as complete and utterly BS. Wow. Shocked. Completely shocked. But....family is the most important thing in one’s life. So whatever the issues are, I wish nothing but positive vibes to Sam and his family. Quality dude. Quality player. He will be missed.
At least one post on Facebook says that Sam's got something going on at home (in Scotland) he needs/wants to go back to deal with. I'm guessing its a long-term issue if they're releasing him to do that.
Jack was interviewed this week (or maybe it was Friday) by Fleming on Sports Social and was talking about going to Orlando and winning the tournament. I don't think it was him.
In the long run Nicholson leaving isn't that big of an impact. Between Lewis, Benezet, Shinyashiki, Rubio, and Galvan his playing time was likely to be limited both in the short and long-term.
Thank you to Sam for all of the great memories on and off the pitch! pic.twitter.com/qP4aHFaCLS— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) July 2, 2020
Agree that there are plenty of players on this roster that could take Nicholson's place. But he, along with Lewis brought deadly pace that the others (don't know about Galván) don't have. We know there were times when he would come up with nothing on his runs, but at the same time each one had a lot of threat/potential. I've thought for a while that Shinyashiki is much more threatening in the #9 role and Rubio is more of a false #9. In the long run, I wonder if Anderson will get a shot on the wing. He seems to have the request skills (he won't be traveling with the team to Florida). Speaking of Galván: 1278804698909179904 is not a valid tweet id
I think they are doing the 11 best players so they shouldn't present it as a best 11. The plural best players (or shirt sellers or whatever) is different than a singular best team.
I agree. The Rapids shouldn't need the pace, and maybe they won't as they get those players integrated. But...they frequently still needed to rely on pace, or Kamara's head. Attributes like that could be a useful shortcut. If he went home for a family thing, I hope everything comes out ok.

Sources: Colorado Rapids have postponed today’s flight to Orlando. Two members of traveling party, including one player, tested positive for COVID-19 on final round of pre-travel testing. Follow-up testing to occur. Aim is to travel tomorrow.— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) July 5, 2020
Maybe I’ll be super happy when matches kickoff but until then I just have an uneasy feeling about all this. I hope I’m wrong but that feeling isn’t fading. Ugh!
