Hey, we’re on a slightly lucky mini-roll of 2 wins in a row. And we’ve made it back to the rarified air in the top half of the table. 9th place baby! 2pts off Spurs in 7th... 6pts off United in 6th.

And now we face the team which is clearly the worst in the league and destined for the drop. Norwich has lost 7 of their last 8 games, and the other one was a draw that they squeaked out a PK win in the cup.

If we don’t make it 3 on the trot on Weds, then we don’t deserve anything outta this season. Forget all about that “every game is tough in the EPL” crap.

PLUS it’s our first “home” match since the Covid restart. I’ll leave the rest up to @ArsenalTexan3.

p.s. In Oct/Nov 2017 I had perhaps my best run as thread starter. 3rd game in was Norwich in the League Cup. We trailed 1-0 at 85’ when Wenger took a chance on a sub who instantly equalized, and then went on to score the winner 10 mins later in ET. Who was that 18YO sub? Well he might just start for us this Weds. BTW, our streak that time went to 6 games. Hmm, that’s got me thinkin...

2019-20 Norwich is the type of team that we have absolutely smashed over the past few years, even when we're in a shitty run. Time to do it again.

Also, no better time to post this:

    Sublime.

I feel like we've had a dozen chances to leap over Tottenham this season, and we've taken none. Hopefully today is different.

He picked another very strong team, depending on what you think about David Luiz ;)

    I guess it's another 3-4-3?

Thank you for signing Saka. Now have a day off.

Yeah, looks similar to Sheffield, 3-4-3 with Kola at CB and Tierney at wingback.

Cedric on the bench, no Guendouzi or Ozil.

If the day needs to be saved, maybe Nketiah will come on as a late sub to do that duty? Just like in 2017.

But it would really be nice if we'd just put them to the sword well before the 85th minute so that's not in any way necessary.

    COYG!!!!

Interesting that we now have 2 straight in a 3-4-3. Wonder if we are opting for the 3rd CB for a little added defense and as an option to replace Ozil in the field since we really don't have a true #10 backup?

Typically I would watch a Wendesday match on DVR tonight, but working from home means I can watch live.

Just thought I'd share a few funny comments from pre-match interviews:

Martinez: "Our goal is still to qualify for Champions League and next year the Title." (Hello?????)

Arteta: (when asked about Ozil's status...) "Same status as last time" (and when asked what that status is exactly...) "the same one as before" (with a cheeky smile)

The broadcast is garbage. Weird camera choices, bad crowd noise, and the replays are messed up.

I've had the visual freeze and freak out a couple of times already. Not a great presentation.

Pretty proud of the massive BLM tarp though. Not sure I've seen that in other stadiums.

After having the lion share of the first 20' we almost go a goal down from a wonder strike by Godfrey(?) who hits the post.

Time for some goal production from Auba/Laca/Nelson!

Edit: Laca promtply gets an open header and puts it right into the hands of Krul. :(

343 is working as they can’t defend out wide but we still look vulnerable in transition

Seems like we gotta cede some possession to open them up.

FK from a dangerous spot just outside the area. But Luiz hits it lamely, and once again right to Krul. Our shot placement REALLY needs a BIG improvement.
