An average Championship player will earn an average Championship salary, which is north of 500k sterling. Less your agent's 10% and income tax of circa 35% leaves nearly 300k a year for him, or +3 million over a 10-year career. Can I have his problems? Please.
He looks like a slightly more athletic Onyewu--a guy who I never wanted to see with the ball at his feet but was generally pleased to have as purely a defender (and option on set pieces).
That's what I've thought for a while. He's kind of a throwback Anglo-American CB, who might have had a very good career 15-20 years ago, but doesn't have the pace or technical ability required of top-tier CBs in today's game.
And does CCV look less like a player who does lots of good things as a defender, but you would rather not see the ball at his feet?

He's good in bunkers and that's what Luton does. Stoke opened up and tried to gain some control, Luton is happy to concede possession and strike on the counter. That style suits Carter-Vickers better.

At least they've given themselves a chance to stay up as a rinky dinky club who was in a hole. It was with a super bunker today it looks like. I mean CCV had 13 total passes and 8 clearances. You don't see that every day. The lowest pass total for anybody in the Championship w/ a significant sample of games is 27. Clearances would tie him for top w/ a guy who's played 5 games. He's 2nd w/ 7.

Shame they could never afford him. But he's been their best defender in a while already. Good thing he moved from Stoke, where he wasn't shining.
