It was leaked a long time ago but it looks like the new Assassin's Creed game will feature Vikings and their invasion of The British Isles. I adored the last 2 AC games (some people hate they moved into an RPG direction, but I don't). That sounds like a really fun setting.
For you MMO players and followers throughout the years, this is a great video I came across which basically shows the popularity wax and wane of the big names through there history. Seeing this is a timeline brought back a lot of nostalgia. Note, it isn't active users, as those numbers are much yes. just some form of total subs. And since the subs drop, it must be based off a rolling period of some sort. thoughts: I went from WOW (4 years)=> Aion(5 yrs)=> SWTOR(few months then back to Aion) => ESO (6 years)=>ArcheageUnchained(recently). - Sad to see how Conan crashed and burned so fast. -Aion was awesome and had a great run. - Destiny 2 isnt a MMO... websites used : pre 2014 http://mmodata.blogspot.com/ post 2014 https://mmo-population.com/
Damn. This looks amazing. Enhanced and rebuilt from the ground up, the unsettling atmosphere of the #PS5 Demon's Souls remake shines through in these gorgeous screens. pic.twitter.com/7PmpFTLto0— PlayStation (@PlayStation) June 20, 2020
You can feel about the story whatever way you want, I think that part is highly subjective. However I find it's too much of the same gameplay wise? They really improved upon the established mechanics of the first game in a variety of ways but didn't really add much? I have to say I was hoping for more gameplay variety and innovation for the 2nd installment of this series.
How much more innovation can you have with this kind of game? What more can they do with the gameplay? Its the same thing with Uncharted, I dunno what you're expecting. Did you want Ellie to have super powers?
I'm not far enough to compare it to the first one gameplay or story wise, but it is damn gorgeous. I primarily play everything on my Xbox One X and didnt expect to be blown away by something on my base PS4, but it looks incredible. I can't imagine how it looks on a Pro
It's about on par with the first in terms of difficulty. I am a bit disappointed that there was barely any improvement to the enemy AI, although they do callouts and flank you and stuff like that. There is definitely more sneaking, there is even a sneaking skill branch, you can take down almost every single enemy without firing a bullet if you want to. I'd say the story is also on par with the first, even though I enjoyed the story in part 2 a bit more.
Looks pretty damn good on the pro, its a great looking game for sure. Runs really great too, I've had zero frame drops during the entire playthrough
I was thinking about more environmental puzzles that challenge my brain. I was also hoping for smarter AI to make the Gameplay more interesting and versatile. Instead the guards have comically outdated AI routines on rails and dead bodies do not bother them in the slightest. They still walk into your traps every time. I just think that part gets boring very quickly. Also the fact that they decided to spend 7 hours on new side characters who don't matter all that much to the continuation of the story kind of bothered me. Made the game feel kind of bloated. Also the shooting mechanics are still not great even though many console shooter suffer from this problem I feel like other studios have done a better job in recent years. I think all of these areas could have reasonably been improved.
I agree on the AI, its definitely a disappointment there was barely any improvement in that area. I dunno about environmental puzzles, that's not really what TLOU is about anyway. Are you playing on survivor because dead bodies definitely affected them in my playthrough.
Yeah but im not speaking for myself. In fact, i would argue most fans are disappointed with how the story turned out judging from different forums and metacritic
Those aren't "most fans". Most fans don't even hang around forums or metacritic, they just play the games. And Metacritic scores mean nothing when the game is getting review bombed by idiots. The game is the fastest selling game in the history of Ps4 so it seems like "most fans" are fine with it
Tbh I’ve looked into the story and it doesn’t sound great but I will play the game eventually I just bought horizon 0 dawn to start tonight
You all need to elaborate on this story sucks, story doesn't sound great because I would LOVE to hear it. All I see is people parroting shit they've read on the internet, actually play the game then talk
I will play it eventually but I have unintentionally revealed a large part of the plot when it was spoiled in a comment thread
Gotta stay away from the interwebs when there are releases, its bound to happen. I avoided all video game media and played through it without having anything spoiled thankfully
They totally shat on the characters that I got so deeply invested in the first game. They demonised both Joel and Ellie, and tried to prop up sympathy for a certain character that i found obnoxious and despicable, by forcing you to play as her. Yes yes, I know the message of the game is that the coin has two sides and that violence begets violence bla bla bla. No, it didnt resonate with me what so ever. Poorly executed.
FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS FAIR WARNING: SPOILERS "I didn't like the story so the story sucks" I knew it was because of Joel, I KNEW IT. Yea, that's not how that works. They didn't demonize Ellie and Joel, Joel was always a bad person or do you not remember what Joel did in the past? They didn't try to prop up sympathy for anyone, they told the other side of the story. You found the other character obnoxious and despicable why exactly? Because that character ended the life of a character you liked? Tough shit. That other character was not only a better person but also a better character than both Joel and Ellie. Joel got what was coming to him, his past caught up to him. Not only was there no "poor execution", there was masterful execution that surpassed the first in almost every way. Yes the story was a bit too bloated, yes there are things that could have been cut, but overall the bloat didn't really detract from the overall experience. It is brilliant. And brutal. It's very different from the first game as it's not a story about zombies. It's a story about grief and trauma and the impact of hate and violence. That, yes, includes zombies - not incidentally, but as part of a vital context. Is it a worthy sequel to the original? That, I imagine, will be contentious, as it's very *different*. This isn't an epic cross-country journey to save humanity. Then again, the original was *really* about Ellie and Joel, wasn't it? At it's core, so is this. I think it's worthy. That you didn't like where they went with it is your problem. Unlike the first game, this is not about hope. This is dark. This game shows how hate makes good people ugly. This game makes you kill people and then afterwards makes you feel REALLY badly about it.
So I have dived back into gaming for the first time in a long while with AC: Odyssey. Now 70+ hours into it and I was wondering: what is the best order for finishing the three main quest lines? Is it Family-Atlantis-Cult? I've been trying to avoid spoilers but I have read that finishing cult before Atlantis sort of ruins the experience a bit. Is this true?
