I think that Pepi comparison to Morata is a good one. If he ends up as good as Morata, he'll be the best US striker ever.
'01 CM/DM Tanner Tessmann says he turned down not only Clemson football/soccer but also European interest in order to sign with FC Dallas. He was strong in his first two MLS starts and aims to follow Reggie Cannon's path with Europe the long-term goal. https://t.co/XFQvho4apk— ChuckMe92 Soccer (@ChuckMe92Soccer) May 26, 2020
For my first piece on ASN, I spoke to LAFC and U.S. U20 midfielder, @DukeBryce, about his origins, hopes for the season, and U20 World Cup aspirations. You can read it here: https://t.co/2CZ0Jx2HDc— Jake Castillo (@jakecastillooo) May 27, 2020
I still don’t know about his passing, but I always say it makes a difference for your team and mitigates the lack of technique when you can buy the team 10 yards in relieving pressure. His size, mobility, tackling ability and reading of the game combo is excellent. Another player who should be in Europe as soon as possible. Miles Robinson Atlanta United HighlightsA dominant presence for Atlanta last year, his 1v1 defending coupled with his athleticism made him a rock at the back. Miles also played incredibly well against Funes Mori last year. He was missing, I believe, for their disappointments this year in CCL.
Getting closer Full story with @PaulTenorio: According to sources, MLSPA has sent a plan to return to play with a 6-week tournament in Orlando to the league. Ball is now in MLS’s court to approve or counter. https://t.co/JT7vNR3Blb— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) May 30, 2020
Breaking: MLS will make its return to play July 8 with the #MLSisBack Tournament, the league announced. https://t.co/5OFAwdiUlF pic.twitter.com/bB19gHrJ4p— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) June 10, 2020
Adding to the story:1) Expect teams to continue to sign homegrowns and USL players prior to tournament. Once tourney begins, those will be off table.2) Restrictions on short-term player agreements have been loosened, per source. Likely more of a factor post-tourney than now. https://t.co/tKANT00GKu— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) June 11, 2020

One of the most fascinating positional battle as we start this tournament is the central midfield for FCD. They built up a lot of depth with the notion that a lot of these players would miss significant team with various international teams and competitions this summer. Tanner Tessmann (18) went from committing to play two sports at Clemson to becoming one of the most exciting USMNT prospects in the MLS in virtually no time.Remarkably mature on and off the pitch for his age.Our full interview 👇👇👇 #USMNT #OneGoal https://t.co/71G8LjbdHb— OneGoal (@OneGoalUS) June 11, 2020

I honestly hope there’s more than one breakout star. There’s a good amount of congestion and plenty in the condensed regular season that we should see even more YNT caliber players used than we have the last two seasons.
I suspect that we won't have many real breakouts in this quick summer tournament. With such a limited amount of training time, I suspect coaches are going to go with the veterans they trust in this tournament format. Breakouts will come in the season to follow...……………….. Robinson is as good of a guess as there can be as Inter Miami doesn't have many forwards. As I said above, it'll be REALLY interesting to see if Tessman can build on his pre-break performances. I'd love to get a peak at Luchi's depth chart. Also, I'm still hopeful about Ocampo-Chavez in Seattle. He seems pretty high on their depth chart. With so much international duty likely this summer for Ruidiaz and Morris, I thought it looked all set up for Alfonso to make a big jump in playing time. Now, we'll see.
I agree for the first 1-2 games, but coaches are risking the health of their players if they’re going to rely on all the same players for the first bunch of games after a long layoff. Mr. Vermes is going to have to rotate.
They'll rotate, but I don't know if they'll rotate to unexpected newbies. We already expected FCD to rotate in Tessman or Inter Miami to rotate in Robinson. But will Luchi rotate in Dante Sealy or Eddie Munjoma or Nkosi Burgess or one of their other thread eligible newbies enough for us to consider them a "breakout?" I don't think so. The players who were already getting first team minutes when the season started are those that are likely to continue doing so. Playing time is already going to be constricted as there are no international callups. I saw a projected lineup for FCD this past week with a midfield of Ferreira, Santos, and Acosta. I meanwhile would have wanted Pomykal, Tessman, and Servania. What do we think the likelihood of Thomas Roberts "breaking out" are? When on Earth will Edwin Cerrillo play? I'm just using FCD as an example, because I know them. With everybody available, its hard to get too far down the depth chart.................if the games matter. Its not pre-season. By the way, Buzz had reported that there will be warm-up games for the teams scheduled prior to the actual tournament. We may get some games to actually talk about quite soon.
