Yes, if the schedule matches, we will be the morning game because the LA game will be the late night and they're not putting their darlings from Atlanta out of the early evening spot.
Sad to say, unlike some posters here who shall remain nameless, I don't have being jailed for domestic abuse as an excuse for missing away matches. Guess I'm not a real fan.
Follow-up: I know there are issues with the nation's meat supply, but do you know how ********ing hard it is to find pork butt in this town right now? Kroger - NO Giant eagle - NO Lucky's - NO Finally found some at Weiland's, for about twice what I'd normally pay. Boneless, though, so there's that.
I'd also try Carfagna's. I've been there twice over the last two weeks. We had beer cheese brats last night that were tasty. Since we are not eating out and I'm making lunch at home, we spent some money on Italian lunch meats. Not cheap, but worth it.
So you attend all away games ? Because if you don’t and don’t watch the Crew turn in your fan badge to the nearest realist fan associate except that nameless guy was innocent because he never did anything and only went to jail because if you have a record and someone falsely accuses you they don’t even need any evidence to charge you . Then they offer to let you out if you agree to a lesser crime or they keep you in jail with a ridiculously high bail . But your white privilege doesn’t allow you to know the truth or you make up your own truth ??? You tell me
I would bet the math is off, and as someone much wiser than me pointed out, some of the rivalries are missing. I have not been able to find chicken wings to grill. But I have been able to get tuna steaks and salmon so I cannot complain. We did shrimp tacos and loaded nachos on the grill this past week. I am at the point where I have been wondering if I go through too much propane. Also one of Geeg’s friends (and Crew fan) bought a Traeger smoker grill. That bad boy looks quite nice.
In addition to the Cafagna's recco, I'll add that Whole Foods and Costco have been solid - according to people familiar with the situation. (Also: If you ever happen to see me at Wieland's - it's a 3 minute drive from my house - please stop me and introduce yourself)
The entire Cook's Illustrated family is essential. We own a ton of their books, old magazine issues, and have a full digital subscription. Chris Kimball's Milk Street is pretty good as well.
Aside from Rollins being a brainless jackwad, I would add that since a) the thing is divided up by conference and b) every single rivalry involves an in-conference opponent, that therefore the odds of running into your main rival are much higher than if you compute it as a random 26 team draw.
Here's a piece from The Athletic analyzing the draw. One of their 4 writers predict the Crew to win the tournament and another has us as runners up to San Jose. All 4 predict the Crew to advance to knock out round. https://theathletic.com/1869319/2020/06/12/mls-is-back-predictions-analysis/
When two rivalry games are announced before the draw, it's obviously not a random draw. Who is Duane Rollins anyway?
A Canadian piece of shit who used to have a website where he spent half his time bashing Columbus and the rest of it licking up rumors and tidbits off of BigSoccer and then posting bulletins based on " my sources are saying that..." Buy me a beer sometime and I'll tell you just how low this asswipe truly is. As for the tournament, I would understand the Orlando/ Miami opener completely except that they're not selling tickets. Might as well be Dallas/Houston for all the difference the local teams make in an empty stadium.
Per the Athletic the Crew schedule will be: 7/11 10:30pm - Cincinnati (FS1) 7/16 10:30pm - NYRB (FS1) 7/21 8:00pm - Atlanta (TUDN) https://theathletic.com/1888929/2020/06/24/
The days Crew play only Eastern Conference teams are playing as I think they are playing the groups fairly close together.
