If Spurs beat Chelsea, and if Arsenal go on to win the league would you:

    A) Be grateful for another 3 points against the table leader or
    B) Go on and on forever and a day about how Arsenal won the league because of Spurs.

Reason I ask? Simply trying to gauge the difference in opinions of local Arsenal and Spurs fans, compared with those on this forum.

    Cheers.

awnser A for me, As much as i hate Arsenal and don't want to see Arsenal win the title but First of all i wan't to see my team get as many points as it gets, I'd love to see my team beat Chelsea in the league as we haven't done that in a long time, So i'd be greatful for another 3 points.

such a hard question!, if those three points moved us up the table or got us into Europe I take option A. But if it is a dead rubber near the end of the season (you said hypothetical remember) probably option B.

Not that I like Chelsea or anything because I most definately don't.

We're gonna need every last point we can get this season, lets take the points, I don't care who wins the title.

If the question is who do I hate more, Chelsea or Arsenal? I'd say Chelsea since Jose took over especially. I wasn't born and raised a Spurs fans so perhaps I just don't have the proper hatred in my heart for Arsenal that I should but I just can't stand Chelsea since the russian take over and even more since Jose came in.

Don't get me wrong, you won't hear a kind word about Arse coming out of my mouth, but they didn't just come out of no where and splash 200 million+ to buy the title and Chelsea actually found a manager more arrogant and hatred worthy than Wenger -- no easy feat.

personally i would be happy with both because i am not ur typical fan who is all hardcore into the rivalries. i do hate chelsea, they have become the ny yankees and that is waht i despise the most. but if spurs continue good form and if they beat chelsea and win 3 pts and move them up a couple of places so they can secure a uefa cup spot i am all for that

you beat who is in front of you. I'd like Chelsea to win the EPL, because it'd make it less boring. But for me it'd be meaningless, because Chelscum have 'done a a Blackburn' and tried to buy success. Where is the nurturing in their set-up? Where is the love?

    Answer A.

Don't care about Arsenal, only care about Spurs. This season is all about us, for me. I cheer on Arsenal and Chelsea and Man U when they play teams like Charlton, Everton, Boro, Villa, Portsmouth and now Liverpool. Why?

Well, being realistic the top 3 will be there come May. But Villa and that lot won't, they have already started to fall away, so any points taken off them is good for us. As long as we keep playing the way we are and other teams slip up then i don't care who wins the league as long as we push hard up the table!

Oh, i see Liverpool on Sky yet again tonight.. 8 straight games now, not inc Champs League.

    Interesting mix of opinions there.

Danners9 and LedleyBetter pretty much match the opinions of my brother and other Spurs fans I know.

    Thanks guys.

I would love to beat Chelsea, we havent beaten them in the league for years & it would be nice to break that. I personally would hate Chelsea to win the league. The money they have spent they should win something & Mourinho would get an even bigger head than he has already. Arsenal win it alot so i have got use to it.

If it was the last game of the season and Spurs needed to beat Chelsea for Arsenal to have a shot at the title, I'd want to see Spurs lose.

Anyone else but Chelsea i would be O.K. with, like when we played Man U a couple of years ago, i didn't mind losing that as we had nothing to play for.

This has actually happened, if you swap ManUre for Chelscum. First time ever on the North Bank at the Library, and Arse fans were singing "Come on you Spurs!" But after going ahead at OT through Ferdinand, Andrew Cole scored two. We lost, which made Arse's win over Vanilla academic.

the options do not appear mutually exclusive to me, dave. can we not do both? ;)

actually, for me, the answer is clearly 'A'. talking excessive shyt about a club that is winning trophies - particulary when we've been so mediocre for so long - doesn't exactly make me feel better about spurs.

what makes me feel better about spurs is getting results - which, you may have noticed, we've been doing for a few weeks, now. i don't much care for the arse; but i'll not sacrifice one iota of positivity for tottenham in the negative interests of arsenal football club.

I remember, Beckham scored the 3rd and that was that. We gave them a scare though! Schmeichel panicing to get back to his goal, nope.. sorry Pete, it's already gone in!

Danners pretty much said what I was going to say. I think Liverpool might have a touch more overall talent then us and maybe should finish 4th but other than that we need all the points we can get to beat out the middle of the league and get into Europe. Year after that we can overtake Liverpool for 4th and get the big Champions League money then start our assult on the big three. :)
