They should have played down with the king by run dmc. Breaking the law is a great song but, doesn't seem like a particularly good choice for a peaceful protest against police brutality. Also in what world is someone arrested for a fake $20? I accidentally tried to spend a fake $20 before I must have got in change and all that happened was the gas station took it, and I went to the bank and got more money.
What about "Police Truck" by Dead Kennedy's? Tonight's the night that we got the truck We're going downtown, gonna beat up drunks Your turn to drive, I'll bring the beer It's an easy shift, no one to fear Let's ride, ride how we ride Let's ride, low ride It's roundup time where the good whores meet We're gonna drag one screaming off the street Let's ride, ride how we ride Got a black uniform and a silver badge Playing cops for real, playing cops for pay Let's ride, low ride Pull down your dress, here's a kick in the ass Let's beat you blue, 'till you shit your pants Don't move child, I gotta big black stick There's six of us babe, so suck on my dick Ride, ride how we ride Ride, low ride The left newspapers might whine a bit But the guys at the station, they don't give a shit Dispatch calls, "Are ya doin' somethin' wicked?" "No siree, Jack, we're just givin' tickets!"
What ********ing asshole decided health insurance should be tied to an employer? Can't leave and can't even afford to use the insurance without debt which basically means I have no motivation to not create debt because everyone needs healthcare eventually
This should be must see viewing in high school civics class (like they still have civics class). Of course, they won't, as it has "bad words" in it. And we know that some bad words is a more serious problem than systemic police racism.
So who does the person who want justice reform, pro abortion, legal weed, and lower taxes/less government, and some but not all gun control vote for? Joe Rogan ain't running.
Those are all fine philosophical principles, which will be useful to guide your voting preference in 2024.
Joe Rogan can go choke a rubber dick. He is pretty good calling UFC fights and he talks to all sides in his podcast, but he's a conspiracy theory spouting a-hole. Just about all of those things are likely in Biden/Harris or Biden/Warren administration, perhaps even the lower taxes (if they restore taxes on the top 10% and corporations). Not sure why anyone would want "less" government or what that even means. Government needs to be more efficient and better serve the people, but less government? No way. Less military, less inefficiency, but not less government.
California requires people who want to be police officers to have 664 hours of training and people who want to become cosmetologists to have 1600 hours of training. I could see that as being a reason why maybe people would want less government
Means I want to be left the ******** alone to do whatever I want as long as it's not harming anyone. I'd prefer to not even know who the president is
thank god. we've already got an un self-aware moron who thinks he's way smarter than he is in the white house.
How are you not left alone to do what you want? Have the police ever come to your house to stop you from doing something? Plus, if there is something you want to be left alone to do, lobby for itm People wanted to be left alone to marry whom they want, and we have marriage equality. People wanted to be left alone to smoke weed, so we have legal (and heavily taxed) pot, in Illinois. By the way, as a straight guy who does not smoke pot, neither of these prohibitions affected me. However, I am strongly in favor of both, as examples of things you should have the "right" to do-marry the individual of one's choice, or that one should be allowed to do-enjoy a smoke now and then. If you have others, lobby for them.
Yeah but Joe claims to be a moron 100x during every podcast and is humble. I'd rather have someone who's interested in hearing other people's opinions and smart enough to realize he's stupid be the president than an arrogant delusional reality TV star. Seriously dude puts out 10 hours of podcasts a week where he interviews everyone with all different views.
I've been stopped by the cops walking down the street just because I looked too happy listening to music. I don't even buy the legal weed in IL it's that taxed to hell. Exactly what I mean by too much government. What exactly is all that extra money buying? Reopening all the schools that were closed?
Policing is a separate issue. Weed, like alcohol and cigarettes, is a "luxury" good and potentially harmful (though likely less than alcohol and way less than cigarettes). It should be taxed to the hilt. That offsets relatively low taxes on necessities like food and medicine.
He claims to be a moron so he can get away with lazily letting his guests spout crazy for clicks. I find him troubling because his ingenuous naif act is used to promulgate some pretty dire shit in the name of "hearing both sides"
Seems a bit cynical even for me. He's a comedian. Sure it helps listening to crazy people for hours for material and the podcast gets people in the door for the comedy shows. I don't really listen anymore because well i It takes up too much time but, when I watch selective clips he always seems pretty reasonable. Not that I agree with giving crazy people a microphone all the time but it's entertaining and the conspiracy theories are more of him making fun of his friends stoned
I disagree that just because something is a luxury it should be taxed to the hilt especially when it's a reproducible resource like a plant. People will just bring it in from unmonitored farms and undercut the market
From the hospital you were born in to all the medication you’ve ever taken, to every bite of food you’ve ever eaten brought to you from subsidized farms plowed by tractors run on subsidized fuel that also fuels the trucks that bring it to you on subsidized roads, to the electricity that runs your house or the gas that cooks that food and virtually everything you take for granted is subsidized to make it accessible to all. How cheap is that untaxed weed going to be when someone has to drive it to you through the ********ing roadless wilderness in a Hummer that gets 3mpg when unsubsidized gas is $30 a gallon? How the ******** are you even going to text your dealer to buy some when there’s no cell network? Go back to using ********ing passenger pigeons? There is nothing in your life that wasn’t helped by subsidies funded by taxes so don’t go down the bullshit path of “less government” when all that would bring you is enslavement or certain death.
I already feel enslaved and death is certain. I see what you mean but there are other ways to do things. By less government I don't mean no goverment but it sure can run more efficiently with less waste. And maybe the entire system should just collapse if it's unsustainable without subsidies. Maybe people should pay what food actually costs. Maybe if we didn't always spend to expand the military there would be plenty of money leftover for basic goverment functions like road maintenance and police protection. Maybe if people elected people who gave a ******** about what's best for them then we'd be better off. Sorry just angry all the ********ing time lately.
Do you really think subsidies for the oil industry are a good thing? They said "less government". They didn't say "no government". I'm sure anyone in here of whatever political persuasion they are can think of at least a dozen places they'd like to see less government if they're given the space to reflect on this - I had a grim experience last week of my own with this. Many laws are useful. Some laws - like, say, a prohibition in New York on selling loose cigarettes - are not.
