Yeah, I think they stole it from this cheap ass spray painted logo on the YouTube woodworking channel.
TR, any updates? Not expecting any given the COVID situation...in fact, I’m kind of resigned to there being no change now since it’ll cost money and the team/league are bleeding more than normal.
Yeah I was told it isn't the priority right now. Not sure if it means we have to wait another year or not though.
We're all still mad about the new logo and horrible jerseys, right? With all the chaos going on in the world, we must find things that still unite us. 1. Nelson Rodriguez sucks 2. The new logo sucks 3. The new jersey sucks (oh, and New Jersey sucks)
Yes! Aside from the actually serious problems in the world, my antipathy for the new colors/logo remains strong. In fact, the thing I was most looking forward to with the home opener was seeing people burn their new logo gear in the parking lot!
As a side point, I'm also unwilling to give Mansueto a pass on it. Surely doing nothing would have been easier and less complicated than proceeding with an entire rebrand. And if it were MY club, I would want that critical choice to be mine and not the guy who proceeded me. The buck stops with the owner, that's Mansueto.
1. Correct 2. Meh - my issue was more with the halfhearted rebrand instead of something fundamentally different, but I also still don't see the new logo as aesthetically pleasing, so 50% correct 3. Incorrect- the new (home) jersey to me was surprisingly well done (what is correct is that New Jersey sucks). I don't know how parenthesis work in math but this one is 0%(100%) correct. I can't wait to go back to watching this team with the naive hope that maybe, just maybe, they won't be complete ass on the field for once.
Although I want a red jersey, I agree that the home jersey actually looks tight (shitty logo aside). Too bad it couldn't be the road or away jersey. Also, does anyone know why in the hell they aren't using that lantern logo they tweeted right before COVID-19 as the rebrand logo? It's actually pretty damn decent.
agreed about that lantern logo. that was one of the two they released that were going to be put onto the jerseys throughout the season. (a total of 6 or 8, i think.) that one got a really positive response when it was posted and i hope the team was 1) listening and 2) already kind of using those as a test to gage interest. the only other one we saw was basically just the chi flag, so this was the only real secondary logo they put out, and if they end up not using any of the others but replace the monstrosity of a logo they gave us with the lantern one- with a small tweak or two- i'd totally be fine with that. as far as the kits, i do actually like the blue tops, though they are not as good as the reds with white stripe, obviously. knowing that with these rebrands things get changed, though, it is something i can live with ASSUMING they 1) replace the logo with just about anything and 2) continue to keep it as a navy blue top with red stripes. some kind of continuity would be appreciated. "navy blue with whatever design we throw on there" will not be acceptable. a meh jersey with a great crest would have been okay. a great jersey (red and white?) with a meh crest might have been tolerable. a meh jersey with a bad crest is what we got and is unacceptable.
Given that Nini's Deli was a big part of the new logo rollout it makes sense that they said crazy conspiracy theory racist shit and made the Chicago Fire sever ties with them.
