One thing that's going to have to be discussed is how season ticket holders are refunded from all this. Apparently Atlanta is not refunding but crediting the 2021 season ticket accounts.
I'm not sure how they should handle it, but allowing certain teams to start holding individual supervised workouts, but not others, feels like handing a competitive advantage to those teams.
I understand what you are saying. But to me, I think it is better to have these teams get out there now, test the waters, and create a blueprint that other teams can follow when the time comes. Making them wait until everyone else is ready just slows down the process even more. Speaking selfishly, I want (safe) games as soon as possible!
Orlando in July? Sure, and to get more games in for a full season I heard they are going with a winter season in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan...

Carles Gil: MLS has been a positive surprise since arriving from Europe June 1, 2020 9:59AM EDT Jonathan Sigal
Sure seems like MLS operators are bullying the player's union. It does seem like the MLSPA has made a lot of concessions.

Believe me, I've been stir-crazy for the last 3 months and I would love to get back to "normal," but I'm worried more than a bit about a Covid wave 2. A lot of states have been opening up in the last couple of weeks, and with all the unrest and crowded protests, etc. where people are doing everything but social distancing, I can only see this rebounding. If they are having games in empty stadiums, they still have to continuously test all the players (not going to let the other guy get the ball because I don't want to get within 6 feet of him!) I would love to see MLS get back, but I hope it's not rushing it for the wrong reasons. The virus is just as deadly today as it was 3 months ago.
Tom, I totally agree with you on the caution part (I tick more than 1/2 of the risk factors, so doubly so for me). Believe it or not, there is anecdotal evidence from a few regions that the virus is less deadly than 3 months ago. La Liga is talking about adding Virtual Fans to the TV broadcasts. I think I would prefer pipe in crowd noise to this, as the players might get some impact from the right piped in stuff (I can just see the first audio guy fired for playing "Hey ref, it's all your fault"). Not serious, just musing.
I was watching the Bundesliga last week and I thought they had piped in crown noise in one of the stadiums. I think it was Red Bull Leipzig. Yeah, leave it to a Red Bull team to create something totally artificial and pretend it's real. At least the Leipzig version never claimed to be a SuperClub!

A couple of weeks ago I had to go down to Florida to help my mother. I drove down and back. The choice of flights was pathetic, not to say anything about getting in a germ-infested cylinder for 4 hours. Here are my observations on the trip. The vast majority of people maintained social distancing. The majority of the people wore masks. The businesses all used sanitary procedures when dealing with the public. Heck, even all the gas station bathrooms I went into had soap in their dispensers!! I believe sports teams can get together and start playing. You test the players coming into camp. Once there using a little common sense they should be able to avoid getting sick. Whoops, human males in their 20's using common sense, well we can hope.
