A few years ago, a friend of mine was arrested covering the Eric Garner protests. Journalism is not easy. Going out into situations like that, takes a shit ton of courage, so you'll excuse me when I see something like this and am not going to be polite about it. SO I don't blame "that reporter" for being terrified. This shit is not easy to cover.
They hate most of the same people Trump and Rs do. So I am not really surprised by anything I'm seeing. Cell phones and SM have made cops way more accountable than they were 20 years ago. Not perfect but it gets the citizens' story out there. Cops hate to be filmed and the Louisville cops didnt even turn on their own cameras. Imagine how it was for 100-200 years before the cell phone era. Same with all the Karens we see wigging out on POC.
Fair enough. I only got my information from a friend who is a former Navy sailor. He suggested that it was against it despite it not being used during a conflict. This is really first time that I can think of that we're seeing a MEDEVAC used as a weapon as opposed to saving someone's life.
Just saw this guy on TV...********ing legend. What he did was simply amazing. On Monday evening as the 7 p.m. curfew started, D.C. homeowner Rahul Dubey saw a large group of protesters coming down his one-way street as they fled law enforcement officers firing chemicals. He opened his door and allowed them to stay. https://t.co/Vp5F44fitV— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) June 2, 2020 1267816900530061317 is not a valid tweet id
BFD. Sounds much like Susan Collins concern-trolling us. Until these folk take a stand, you (the amorphous use of the word you) can miss me with the BS. Edit: I see JohnR beat me to the point.
Ok ... so the guy trying to school me on issues in my own country passing them as facts is telling me now to not have an opinion ?
Seen plenty of reporters in worst situations do a better job. Nothing against her. Was just an observation. It's her choice to be out there.
So what happens likely if a US military kills a (black) protester in Washington? Isnot that going to be throwing a burning match into the black powder room?
A blue check mark guarantees nothing. I’ve seen plenty of bullshit posted by that lot too. Regarding your comment about mass resignations, that could be completely counterproductive. If they resign then Trump can replace them with whomever he chooses without little recourse. If he’s forced to fire them then that becomes a lot more complex.
6 Atlanta police officers charged for unlawfully stopping a car and assaulting the occupants because they happened to be black and driving near a protest. https://abcnews.go.com/US/atlanta-p...nts/story?id=71023836&cid=social_twitter_abcn
Related, does the protests require its own thread? Obviously tied to racism, but it seems to be eating up a lot of bandwidth in this thread.
I knew it too, but I blame my older sister for that. And by older, I mean she was 9 when that was a hit.
All the cops doing this shit and they wonder why songs like Cop Killer and Fvck the Police get written.
Biden attending George Floyd’s memorial service. There are things (actually many things) that Trump won’t be able to overcome. This is certainly one of them
