    Yes - this stuff isn't happening by accident. A significant group of people who believe in whatever conservatism is supposed to be are now peeling off.

    Likely too late to fix the GOP but they know if they can keep 1% of older/traditional GOP voters home in key counties, Trump loses

    Apparently this schism exists in those who see themselves as the next leaders of the party.

    Those in the Wilson/Will/Walsh camps want to see Trumpism burned to the ground so that the party can get back to being an ideas party. Whether you believe in conservatism as a real ideology or not, that is how they see it. These are the kind of people who are also disillusioned with what Paul Ryan did in 2017 when instead of delivering any genuine reform, he just sold out. These people essentially sit outside the current party and probably have no future in any party

    The you have the Rubio / Hayley / Cruz / Pompeo camps. Apparently these people see Trump losing narrowly in 2020, but in a way that Trumpism remains a dominant force. They see themselves as being able to unify the Trump and conservative wings, and bring the GOP more towards the centre.

    According to the likes of Walsh, the fallacy in this thinking is that Trump will be vanquished and disappear in 2021. The alternative view is he maintains his hold over the party, though weaker than before, and attempts to bring Jr to power in 2024.

    If what these guys say is true, it tends to explain the cyncisim of Hayley and Rubio, as they want to take control of Trump's base.

    Wilson and co thus want to see a resounding defeat for Trump to shatter his grip, and discredit those who were his toadies

    "Cicero" is trending. If you click on the timeline, the allegation is that Latinos were randomly attacking blacks passing through the city. Then the defense against that allegation is that the Latinos were only protecting their town against looters.

    Read entire thread. Cops corralled peaceful protesters into a residential neighborhood. Many homeowners offered shelter and cops have been circling homes, intimidating homeowners trying to trick them into entering the homes and arresting protestors trying to escape through backyards. Cops trying to send in undercover cops pretending to be protesters. Homeowners are heroes standing their ground. Incredible. Police state tactics in the nation's capital
