This stunt today will backfire spectacularly...Mark my words. PS. John Weaver seems to agree with me 1267609981593026560 is not a valid tweet id
We know the answer President Trump returns to White House after visit to St John’s Church and WH press corps has some questions for him. @CBSNews #DCProtests pic.twitter.com/9kQHs08kMY— Paula Reid (@PaulaReidCNN) June 1, 2020
Those were not US soldiers. I thought it was police, but National Guard are not US soldiers. They are NG and under state jurisdiction. Wrong as in armed. Perhaps armed with an AR and a couple of extra clips. In ~half of the US states that use of force would be "legally" justified and I think in seventeen or so they would be exempt from civil penalties if not convicted for a crime. I don't suppose it would matter much if they were white agitators, but if they were POC well, then this will be only the beginning.
It wasn't that long ago Will was singing a different tune. Oh he was all in on getting rid of Trump, but the Senate? He couldn't conceive handing all three branches to the Democrats. I guess he's finally realized that Trump is not the virus, Trump is the host.
I was wondering what happened between the store video of Floyd being taken out of his car and handcuffed and the bystander video showing him pinned to the ground. The 2 cops who first responded tried to get him inside the car but he refused. Being a big guy I guess they weren't able to force him in. Also he supposedly said he was claustrophobic and already was having trouble breathing. So it looks like they called for help and that's when Chauvin comes in and everything unfolds as it did. This is according to NYT analysis.
I have explained some of the many federal police departments in DC. A tweet in that thread is why I keep mentioning that. DC Mayor just tweeted this: “I imposed a curfew at 7pm. A full 25 minutes before the curfew & w/o provocation, federal police used munitions on peaceful protestors in front of the White House, an act that will make the job of @DCPoliceDept officers more difficult.”— Mike Levine (@MLevineReports) June 2, 2020 I imposed a curfew at 7pm. A full 25 minutes before the curfew & w/o provocation, federal police used munitions on peaceful protestors in front of the White House, an act that will make the job of @DCPoliceDept officers more difficult. Shameful!DC residents — Go home. Be safe— Muriel Bowser (@MurielBowser) June 2, 2020 The comment was about the video of white kids caught looting. I was mentioning that I had included a short version of the video earlier in this thread.
It doesn't have anything to do with any thing. Trump throws "Democrats will take away your 2nd Amendment rights" into pretty much all his non-teleprompted speeches. It's one of his Magic 8-Ball phrases. Republican voters don't seem to notice that it's what a parrot might say, as well as being, well, wrong.
From my perspective, George is spot on. I've said all along that my opposition to Trump isn't partisan. It's that he's inhuman. George looks around, says of Senate Republicans "You not only haven't resisted the alien, you have nursed and breast fed him, so you go out, even though I mostly agree with you on policy. But some things are more important than partisan politics." Well done, George. Well done.
can't believe the looting is still going on in the Chicago neighborhoods I guess if you need anything just go to ebay instead of the store
Our experience has been rather different than in most cities. The main complaint to LIghtfoot has not been about police behavior, but rather the unavailability of police. Looting is rampant and there aren't enough police to get to all the areas.
Shit like this https://www.yahoo.com/news/omaha-bar-owner-held-shooting-164502866.html When the police can not control the riots, some people will protect their property with force.
Simply unconscionable. WTF the Chairman of the JCOS is doing in fatigues in the DC streets? Clown. General Milley, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, walking the streets of Washington DC right now. Briefly spoke to say he is observing the situation. pic.twitter.com/fHcYOTYMzN— Shabtai (@velvetart) June 2, 2020
Had trouble breathing so they pinned him face down and Chauvin knelt on his throat for 8+ minutes. Makes sense.
Better late than never. And that's an opinion that may carry some actual weight with some voters on the deluded side. At some point the unanimity of opinion has got to break through on some of them.
I’m seeing videos of Shadow UAVs over head in the twitterverse.....we used shadow and hunter at the tactical level in Baghdad
