Fugg... <deflation>. Hoping he gets sub-time at CDM... but at least 60 minutes of this game has become so much less entertaining.

meh. Laimer is Naggs man. Sorry about it though. Adams game is made for the 4-2-2-2-2-2....

Michael had a good career but it would be disappointing if Adams wasn't a better player.

He's only played ~150 games in the Big 4 btw...

Adams is already better than Bradley ever was so if he somehow declined to Bradley's peak that would be disappointing.

3-1 Leipzig after Gulasci catches a free kick and quickly punts out to Timo Werner running alone in space at Koln's keeper Horn. Keeper assists are fun, and Werner is all class for the finish. Think Leipzig should use some subs, Koln only one so far.

RBL look terrible after scoring a third, sloppy and slow, and Modeste makes a brilliant turn and shot from 23' into the right corner to make it 3-2. Also, Olmo took a bad knock that could lead RBL to subbing him out, appears to be playing right mid.

And immediately RBL make it 4-2 on a corner kick - attempted headed clearance goes right to Olmo at the top of the 18, who gets an open shot and buries it through the forest of bodies.

59': Tyler Adams on for Laimer, should be as a dual central midfielder with Sabitzer.

Tyler came on in the 58th for Laimer, presumably at CDM

BL has picked a good time to have some wide-open goal-fests on TV. There's been a LOT of goals to keep the new fans entertained.

Adams working hard defensively, first possessions good distribution. Schick blew an open header to make it 5 by heading a rebound of another Werner breakway wide.

Nkunku puts one on an absolute platter for Olmo, who curls it into the side netting going for the lower near corner. Shouldn't still be only 4 for RBL.

Adams fouled twice in one minute to the ground, but fine.

adams doesnt play a killer throughball, but he also doesnt go backwards when playing centrally. keeps cycling the ball with nice touches under tight pressure to other players in attacking positions

Koln has a Modeste breakawy to try make this interesting late, but he rolls it wide of the far post. Balancing out the missed great chances.

He still doesn't look as confident as he did at times last season. He played OK for 30 minutes... I think he completed all of his passes, drew a few fouls and had a decent interception. But aside from that initial burst of speed he showed on the first dribble and pass he still shies away from moving forward too much IMO. Perhaps Nags wanted him to be the more defensive of the CDMs?... They did have a two goal lead. But Sabs and Laimer both get forward better. If there isn't an injury to one of those guys I don't think it is all that likely that we will see Adams getting a start there until next season.

I think it might be more probable that we will see him back at RWB/RB for a start due to the thinner competition there. Mukiele was a tail of two halves today... in the 1st he looked dangerous going forward but made some errors. In the 2nd he stopped attacking but played better on D. He will likely get the nod again this weekend but who knows? The fact that Adams played 90 at RB then was the first sub at CDM is evidence that Nags likes him. But he has played enough minutes this season for me to start wondering when I am going to see a signature shift. He has played well for a young player but hasn't been a standout once since his return.

I thought it was a good game for Adams considering what was asked of him in this situation.

The game was a mess when he came on. Leipzig had a 4-2 lead but it was chaotic. Adams came on and he played a big role in getting the game under control for Leipzig. That is exactly what was needed.

Yeah, if he played like this from the starting lineup, he would have needed to contribute more offensively. But in this situation, he did his job.

That is certainly the positive way to see it and based on the scoreline makes a lot of sense... but it would be nice to see Adams in a situation where he did need to contribute offensively from CDM. Again, I am just looking for a signature moment or three... a set of plays where you see him and go "Wow". We saw it last year. Heck, we are even seeing it with Gio in his limited minutes. I know they play different positions... but I saw that wow factor from Adams last year... it was capped off with the 50+ yard assist to end the season. I just need a reminder... and it kind of seems like Adams may too.

He's not really a dynamic offensive player. It is not his DNA.

Yea he’s not the type to play that perfect long ball or through ball, but last year he was good about quickly distributing the ball to a teammate who could make that type of pass on the counter.

I remember last year his teammates would pass him the ball very often. Did this happen today?

Wish I got a chance to watch the game to see how much of what he did last year in the CDM role showed today. Sounds like the chaos of when he got on makes for a USMNT fan excuse of his performance.

We all wanted him to play at CDM, I’m just hoping he didn’t disappoint Nags so we end up seeing him there again.
