During Friday night's #DenverProtest, @DenverPolice seized several military-style assault rifles from anti-government gun enthusiasts who call themselves “#Boogaloo Bois.” #copolitics https://t.co/4NQ7tQFWNT— Colorado Times Recorder (@COTimesRecorder) June 1, 2020
They did get the license plate of the car, I would say give the number to the police, but the police is probably busy right now.
The school officers in both the public school and private school my daughters attended were really good with the kids and were always friendly at all the events they attended in an official capacity, like football games, etc. The middle school and grade school officers ran the anti-drug and safety town activities and still know my kids when they see them. We also have the only motorcycle cop in my suburb as a volunteer coach for our S.O. teams. But that's simply anecdotal. I have no doubt in rougher schools/districts/cities it could be the exact opposite.
Open authoratarianism in multiple police forces and clear alignment between union bosses and trumpism Exactly how despotic regimes take power This is why I worry about getting trump out of the whitehouse especially when we now have gop congressman calling for military intervention and hunting down US citizens for execution
no, supposedly they're somewhere Edit: here they are, in Chinatown and Pilsen one problem is that, except for the MPs, they're not trained in policing Chicago: The Illinois National Guard has deployed 375 military police officers to the streets:-Trained in crowd control response-Will play a limited role in the city to assist in area road closures and I.D. verification when needed#Chinatown #Pilsen #SouthLoop pic.twitter.com/R3OFUwVhtE— Captured News (@CapturedNews) June 1, 2020
That will help the DA (trying to convict the cop). I imagine lawyers will fight it out in court to see witch one the jury gets to see. BS lawyers, how would this work?
In the school around the corner from me, a SRO slapped a 5th grader he felt was being disrespectful to a teacher - the 5th grader slapped him back and he cuffed them, escorted him to the office, during the walk, the student "accidentally" walked into a door frame twice. 1) Edmond Oklahoma is not a "rough" school district / city. 2) Westfield Elementary is not a rough school - it's enrollment is 90% white and admin / teaching staff has one apparent minority - caucasian appearing Arabic Muslim 3) The student was a 5th grader - the SRO was a morbidly obese Oklahoma County Sheriff's Deputy It doesn't matter if 99% of cops are good - when they fail to eliminate the "bad apples" they all get to wear the black eye until they do
Tom Cotton calling for a military assault on protestors. Will the media wake up? Or will the US stumble meekly into erdolf tinpot land It is essential to understand what @SenTomCotton is proposing. He wants battle hardened active duty US Army combat divisions deployed against the American people with shoot to kill orders. It is immoral, illegal and would obliterate the legitimacy of US values. There is no war https://t.co/y8iDr0TVeA— Steve Schmidt (@SteveSchmidtSES) June 1, 2020
You do not want active duty combat divisions in your neighborhood. Sweep and clear doesn’t mean the same thing to an infantry man or tanker as it does to a LEO I don’t want to see “COIN” operations here.
Inslee is taking the gloves out as well. I can't honestly recall ever Governors blasting a President in a middle of multiple crisis (es) like that. These are the rantings of an insecure man trying to look strong, after building his entire political career on racism and the lie of birtherism. He is — again — failing to address the underlying injustices facing black Americans. It is not leadership. https://t.co/CMl0n8BJOp— Governor Jay Inslee (@GovInslee) June 1, 2020
Things are different on OK than Ohio. I hope the school admins did something. And that's the unfortunate part.
Charlie Baker blasted Trump this afternoon...The call today was really a bridge too far for a number of governors. GOP Gov. Charlie Baker - who generally avoids criticism of Trump - blasts him today. "During these past several weeks when the country needed compassion and leadership the most, it was simply nowhere to be found. Instead we got bitterness combativeness and self-interest,"— Singer (@singernews) June 1, 2020 Wonder if that means Trump lost @MassGovernor’s vote yet? https://t.co/lIoAj6s519— Social Distancing Jude (@soccer_jude) June 1, 2020
They're probably not https://wtov9.com/news/local/allege...to-demotion-for-local-school-resource-officer https://www.foxnews.com/us/ohio-school-resource-officer-used-taser-to-wake-sleeping-student-police Kind of like blaming the "black community" for not getting rid of it's "bad apples"
Nothing interesting about it at all. Any 12 year old could see what happened to George Floyd and conclude how he died. Donald Trump is actually right about 1 thing - the system is rigged. The issue is that he fails to acknowledge that he is on the side of the those doing the rigging. Completely laughable that people in that group continue to have a serious voice in 2020. Poor feyenoord (the poster from the Netherlands frequenting these boards) seemed incredulous that I did not believe the ME report when it first came out. Well feyenoord, there you have it. Another reason why POC and specifically Black folk have zero faith in the "system" here.
That woman is funny..... Kayleigh: And we also note the President’s history of condemning white supremacy and racism pic.twitter.com/ofZ6P6cEZW— Acyn (@Acyn) June 1, 2020
That's a key point. No profession has all good actors. There will be bad police officers. But when good ones cover for them, then the good ones aren't good ones any longer.
This is something that blew my mind learning about the history of voter suppression in the US Right now, you have well funded efforts spending millions to try to prevent POC from voting, or actively disenfranchising by deleting them from the roles. Here in NZ, this seems amazing to me that you can have organised racism like this.
Good grief. How does she even form her lips to say these things? A history of speaking out against racism and white supremacy ... Donald Trump?!?! Forget the "history" part - the guy won't even seriously condemn it IN THIS MOMENT! GTFOH!
