You mean, sharing more time with family, exercising more, cooking and eating healthy and watching tons of movies ?

    Why would that be depressing?

I dont get to spend time with family; I am stationed 3 timezones away from them,

I can't go to the gym because they're closed everywhere and even running doesn't do enough,

Cooking and eating healthy is nothing new that a lot of us weren't doing before the virus came,

And I'll be honest with you, i binge watch a lot of films and series often enough that theres barely anything else for me to watch when I am not working.

That being said, I still work so it helps pass the time.

Football is what I look forward to weekly and I get excited when it comes up.

If James goes to Miami he's dead to me. Hell I'd rather him go there then stay at Real Madrid and He'd make a shitload of money probably in Miami, but please for the love of god just go to a decent team in Europe until the World Cup.

Imagine if James stayed at Monaco and they kept up their ambition. He would have such a great career to look back on and Imagine if they kept James/Falcao/Mbappe and guys like Fabinho and Martial. My lord.

Seriously.....isn’t Monaco a great place to live? I can understand how South Americans have a tough time adapting to life in England; but isn’t France just as “cool” as Italy or Spain?

Its mega expensive but there's no income tax and its beautiful. As well the stadium never really fills and the atmosphere is not great. For guys like Falcao and James on big wages I'd imagine it would be a great place to live in many respects, but it all depends on the individual obviously.

So you rather him have in ride the bench for the remainder of his career?

It's a real shame James left Bayern. Kovac was a donkey, but Bayern is probably playing the best soccer in the world right now and the new coach is playing a style that would have fit James perfectly. Muller is playing really well, but I think James would have been a great fit playing in a midfield of Kimmigh/Thiago/James with Gnabry/Lewy/Coman ahead of them. That team is set up for a player like James, it's really too bad they didn't get rid of Kovac earlier.

To be closer to his children? I don't blame him. Family is everything in the latin culture.

Also I don't think that Bayern playing the "best football" right now would be 100% accurate/creditable considering that they're the only top tier league in UEFA that is playing again; let's wait and see how the others do when they continue again in the future.

After all, we may start seeing better football from the various leagues across europe and not realize it yet.

Bayern is best top tier team where James would play regularly without being run down.

He could easily log in 40 games in all competitions and be a vital member of their system.

At this point, it is what it is.

I'm counting before the lock down too, Bayern were imo playing the best soccer in the world, very consistent and going out and dominating games every week and scoring goals for fun.

Top team is hard to argue against. I will say that their back line seems to have a bunch of guys playing out of their natural position in many matches though.

That could hurt them when they face the Big boys in the Champions League but they can over come it.

As for James, maybe he would have flourished there. Maybe not.
He seems to be a drama queen no matter where he is and what type of situation he is in.
    We will never know.

I don't remember any drama in Bayern. They wanted to keep him and he stupidly left

He and Kovac had their disputes.

There were also media reports pertaining to what you were saying about him missing Madrid and not liking Bavaria life that much.
(Although that can be tabloid hype and exaggeration as most of that stuff is.)

Just Alaba really and he's played CB previously. Davies has been converted into a LB and he's performed to a level that he's arguably the best in the world there currently. They have a set up that is meant to dominate possession, they're biggest obstacles are likely teams that counter attack well and are comfortable out of possession, but I'd take them over any other team right now.

James thrived when Bayern were under Jupp Heynickes and they played a style to dominate possession, the problems came up when they played with Kovac and his style was much different. James has made really bad decisions recently, he would have obviously been better off riding it out at Bayern and taking his chances then going back to Madrid for a coach that guaranteed will take any excuse not to play him. The other issue is Zidane is a club icon and was very unlikely to be fired after coming back. Now who knows what James should do, but he clearly would have been smarter staying in Germany, rather then riding the bench for another year in Madrid.

Davies is wonderful but still started more as a Forward in MLS and Canada.
Alaba is also wonderful but once again was naturally at a different position as you pointed out.
I have seen them play MArtinez back there too but he was more of a Defensive mid.
Hernandez has been more of a LB for France and other club teams but yes they are solid against the competition they play against.
I am just not sure they can hold up against the Big boys yet in Champions.
Only one way to find out.

They are in every sense the big boys, they have 5 champions league titles and are competitive in the competition every year, with lots of these same players who have plenty of World Cup and champions league winners. (Not sure if you were alluding to them not being big boys, but that team and that club are on par with the biggest in the world in terms of history, finances and squad).

This year the champions will be up for grabs and with a tourney style system, anyone can get hot and win it.

Bayern has yhe disadvantage of finishing their season well before the proposed CL dates which say August whild the EPL, Serie A, and La Liga will be just finishing their league at the time

Yeah it depends on what the final format is, I think most likely their league finishing a good while away from the champions league will likely hurt them some, but it could also hurt the other leagues if they have to rush the end of their season and if they are involved in tough battles domestically. It will make it wild for sure, hopefully will be entertaining.

    You interpreted it incorrectly.

I said I do not know how their back line will do when they have to face the big boys.

They are a team with great prestige and one of the best in history themselves but I am specifically talking about the back line being tested against the best competition in Europe.
