Now 2-0 - yankish Delaney leads Brandt down left wing, who puts it on a platter for Sancho with a rolled cross 3 yards in front, easy finish. Clearly Reyna time.
2-0 now. Oh well. That warm-up injury just sucked so bad. I though the “nightmare” description was overdone, but I don’t think so now. I think it’s turned into a nightmare. I don’t see that Farve has any reason short of injury now to start Gio and Dortmund haven’t been in close and late games. Gio is just getting shot time. Bad luck.
Man, a 17 year old not being given a starting spot on one of the more talented teams in the world is truly nightmare fuel. Let me be blunt: Gio shouldn't be starting on pure talent. Brandt, Sancho and Reus, when healthy, are clearly better players at the same position. And Hazard is not a bad player, either. He's learning from some really great players. Let's watch him earn his time as he improves.
it's still weird to me how little Farve uses his subs early on. It's not even about Reyna, BVB is in an injury crisis and he has 5 subs and still hasn't made one in the 68th minute as I'm writing. Seems odd to me for a team that has suffered so many injuries (Sancho just went down as i typed this) that they don't make quicker changes.
Blasted into his arm which was tucked into his body from no more than four feet away. ouch. Hunemeier buries great penalty into top left corner. 2-1.
Yeah, but that’s Bayern. Calls like that always happen. Always. anyway, I call this Gio time!!! Put him in!!!
That was fast. Hazard down left wing, cut back to top of 18, defender whiffs, Sancho settles and places to right corner off keeper's fingertips.
Sancho is good. Hell of a shot w/ little to aim at. So they should sub him out for Reyna. Preserve Sancho for subsequent matches considering he's on a yellow. And Dortmund are a little more secure now, up two.

Hmmm. Gio gets absolutely clobbered, but the ref lets Dortmund play on from his excellent pass. 7 or 8 passes later Hakimi scores #4.
Helped spring the attack which led to the goal. Keeps getting fouled hard for his threat to blow passed defenders. Hard for CONCACAF enforcers to target two dynamic players now.
