The competition would certainly take a big step up if they gain promotion.

Tweet says Monaco and Nice along with Hertha are interested in a loan for Konrad.

Can he go play with Weah at Lille? ha. Any first division loan at this point would be the far superior option over hanging out at Barce and playing in the lower divisions. maybe he hits torch mode the first half of the season and can be recalled for minutes off the bench... i would happily take that fantasy! hahaha

Segunda division is a good league. If Barca B is promoted staying and playing for them is a fine option. If they don't get promoted then going to France would also be a great choice.

Konrad needs to start his professional career. I know he's getting paid to play soccer so he's technically a pro, but the kid needs to go test his mettle against seasoned adult pros in the near future to see how he stacks up.

Mainly because it's old. They put those up at the beginning of the season.

Here is an article from 5 Jun confirming he is with the B Team.

    https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/football/barca-b/news#

These were followed by a second group consisting of Sergi Puig, Ilaix, Gerard, Ramos Mingo, Jaume Jardí, Morer, Álvaro Sanz, Mika, Konrad and Reis.

Yes and no. The Segunda B season will not be continued but Barça B will compete in a playoff to decide promotion to Segunda Liga. Dates for the playoff are currently set for 18-26 July

We were discussing in the Chris Richards thread the fact that Bayern II is not allowed to be promoted to the 2nd division in Germany. So I have to assume the same rules do not apply in Spain.

    Per Wikipedia:

"Reserve teams in Spain play in the same league pyramid as their parent club but may not play in the same division."

This should be the same in Germany. Not sure why Bayern II can't move up.

Spain and Portugal permit reserve teams in the 2nd division. Erik Palmer Brown recently won a 2nd division title with Porto B not that long ago.

I guess the rules are there for when the A Team gets relegated. But in that case I think they should just relegate the B Team no matter where they are in the table. In short, IMO... B Teams should be able to reach as high as the 2nd tier.

I think Germany is more the exception than the rule.

It's more equitable for the smaller clubs the German way.

A modest club representing a small town really shouldn't have to compete against a financial giant like Bayern Munich on multiple fronts for limited spots near the top of the pyramid.

Good find. It mentions in the article that the club was waiting for the Barcelona metro area to transition to phase three reopening before making Konrad’s extension official. That seems to answer the questions many have had on here recently.

Just announced tonight -- Barca B will play Real Valladolid B in the first round of the Segunda B playoff. The game will be on July 19.

Barca B has to win three rounds to earn promotion to the Segunda.
