But RM are already rebuilding/shaping their team around Hazard. Can you shape the team around Hazard, and Mane, and then also find spots for your two high-potential young Brazilian wingers Rodrygo/Vicinius? And where does Marco Asensio fit in now, the great Spanish hope for the future? and Isco? Without some big departures, Real isn't going to be a good place for Mane.
If Mane and Salah were 24-26 range I'd be worried about one of them leaving. But with both around 28, I don't think either of the spanish clubs are going to be paying the 150M+ it would take to sign them.
Good points. I think I enjoyed just actually talking about football again, and trying to think things out, even if its a moot conversation.
I don't disagree with 90% of what you are saying. It's short-term v long-term. I think short-term ( 3 years ) getting one of the top 5 goal-scorers in the world of football makes sense, almost regardless of any other factor. i say "almost" because nothing is absolute.
I know this should probably go in the Academy/Reserves thread, but a decent look at the best of the the U-18/23s. It might explain the thinking behind going and not going for certain players when the window opens.
if you're one of the yoots who are close to moving ahead, the current transfer uncertainty (all clubs) could end up giving your career a huge boost, that in normal years wouldn't happen. step up, do well, make your mark and who knows ....
Liverpool have continued to monitor Ousmane Dembele's situation at Barcelona as the Timo Werner saga continues to drag on.
No thank you! This dude is massively immature, disruptive, and so far has a terrible injury record. Could he be rehabilitated - maybe. Would he ruin our team chemisty - probably.
surely we’d have to come up with something much more flashy/terrible to call him if he joined like “Ricky JJ” or “R J^2”
Liverpool target Timo Werner is now in advanced talks to join Chelsea, who are ready to pay his €60 million release clause, according to Bild 😱 pic.twitter.com/fWHDO3Xlv9— GOAL (@goal) June 4, 2020
Classic negotiating tactics. EDIT: Apparently he's joining Chelsea, indeed. At least according to the DT's Matt Law.
I'm disappointed if this is true coz Werner would seem to be a really good fit for us . Maybe Klopp has decided Taki will be guy to understudy the front three?
Timo Werner has made no secret of his desire to join #LFC, but the club cooled interest in April due to Covid-19. Chelsea have made their move, trebling his salary, offering more minutes and a core role in Frank Lampard's rebuild. Melissa Reddy
Our interest seemed to cool after Covid 19 kicked in , the story being the club no longer believed his 52 mill buy out value was correct. We may have sat on this one hoping to get him cheaper and been pipped by Chelsea in the process.
Sometimes you have to walk when the deals not right. Sometimes you just have to cough up if the signing is essential and not going ahead is a false economy (VvD/Allisson). Just have to hope the club is making the right choice.
Well...that's two players now that Chel$ki has signed that I "kinda" hoped might land with us...the other being Christian P.... Trust in Klopp...my response to all things transfer...
that could be very key. plus Lampard is on a big "play the young lads" kick that Wermer might find attractive. good chance they'll be in Europe next year as well.
