The suggestion is (or could possibly be) a weapon in helping gut the 2nd. Why would you post here arguing against its use? We're not talking about a friendly game of badminton at a family reunion- it's much more important than that, and the scoreboard is what matters most.

I'm lost. Perhaps it's the span of time since the earlier posts to which superdave replied, but I don't know what you're saying. Can you rephrase?

Actually,it's pretty clear now that whatever the reasons, the net effect of not disarming rural white America is the existence of an armed reactionary movement in waiting ,equipped to carry out massive racial violence against racial minorities, potentially including armed voter suppression and local government coups similar to Wilmington NC 1898.

What's not clear is whether they are organized enough to carry it out.

I have my doubts. One properly positioned food truck would easily distract them.

Not those clowns.I'm thinking currently trained former vets and police, rural land owners who hunt regularly, aligned and funded by businessmen who have been damaged by "government overreach".
    You know- "concerned citizens".

You're being willfully ignorant if you think "rural white America" is where most of these guns are stockpiled. The folks in those pictures are dazzling suburbanites for the most part

As if one needs another reason to avoid Burger King! :coffee:

"Police reported they were breaking up a fight at the Winghouse, across from the Burger King, at 8:24 p.m.
The Burger King is notorious for such gatherings and at least one person has been killed there in past gun violence."

I'm not so sure. They look to me to be from... off the beaten path, but not what I'd call suburbs. I don't see HOA covenants and "good" schools here. They certainly don't look like professionals.

Suburbs / Suburbia currently has it's place in the public consciousness as the small city outside the core city, inhabited by upper middle class & wealthier residents that commute into work and reside where they do because of good schools and the absence of POC. While this is true in varying degrees, depending on the zip code, there are always adjacent lower middle class to poor suburbs and inner ring neighborhoods that fill in gaps. Neighborhoods & communities that might have been the new best thing in 1955-70, but 50+ years on, they've become lower and lower economic class and turned more blue collar & more renter than ownership. In and around OKC, the inner suburbs and outer "ritzy" neighborhoods of the 60's & 70's that were fueled by a mixture of white flight to avoid busing & oil booms are showing their age. Homes are bought up by slum lords / rental companies, nice apartment complexes are turning Section 8 and attracting lower income people who can't afford to live in the sexy exurbs with me or the gentrifying Bricktown / Mid-Town core - the lower income white folks that are either stuck in these places economically see their neighborhoods changing and it inflames their racist upbringings from when they never had to interact with POC, who all lived on the other side of the tracks

Some are, some aren't - it's white cosplay for showing how hard you are & intimidating anyone you see as a threat, which to them is both POC & educated effete coastal liberals

Kinda like being 40 and pretending / portraying you're thuglife with the story you tell people about you days in the Crips and dealing drugs or telling all your homies about living in the barrio and being the hardest cholo there.

    Middle age insecurity

I don't see why they wouldn't fight at Burger King. It's a fast food restaurant, not a shrine

This x 10. Comes down to overcompensating, and the need to be part of a cause. Guarantee most of these guys have pickups with lift kits and some <insert phrase here> that reminds everyone not to mess with them.

I'ma tell you now - I've reached a point in my life where I've outlived all of my male ancestors / relatives by a solid 3 years (we die early), so if there's anyone "protecting" my polling place with an AR, one or both of us is leaving the church parking lot in a body bag
I'm really ready to go back to a matrilineal society

Tracing their heritage thru Scarlett instead of Rhett won't make a difference. The coalblowers'll just drive pink trucks. We already know Karen's out there doing her Ruby Bates/Victoria Price role everywhere, all the time.

Putting White women in power isn't going to do anything for anyone any more than it does now. What's more dangerous than a fat former cheerleader whose husband doesn't find her attractive after she's whelped out the 2.5?

I think polling has shown that women are much more reasonable as a whole in this political climate. That's not to say they wouldn't also struggle with abuse of power if they were no longer an institutionally repressed "minority."

And yeah, it's no guarantee that things will improve, but I gotta think the chances are better with women in leadership rather than men.

Gotta head off that mid-life crisis. And most of those weapons are way cheaper than a Corvette and penis-lengthening surgery.
