I don't really think that it's an either/or with McKennie and Reyna. The US personnel screams for a 4-2-3-1 with McKennie and Adams as the deep CMs with Reyna central in front of them, Pulisic and whoever (Morris, probably) on the wings, and Sargent or whoever else as the lone striker. The ground coverage stats for an Adams - McKennie midfield would be a sight to behold.
hopefully the rwb experiment is over. he needs to demonstrate he is the better option at the 6. playing a style like leipzig does in a compressed schedule should give him the opportunity to do that.

Yup I hope so as well. In the formation today it’s tough for Adams to have a place in central mid when they’re only playing Sabitzer and Kampl who each offers more overall than Adams currently (last season Adams arguably offered more). I’m hoping he gets 30min or more at CDM, but unfortunately we may not see him until later. I’d hope Mukiele goes in for Laimer or Halstenberg and Adams goes in for Kampl.
Turns out he is starting A late change to the starting line-up: Tyler #Adams comes in for Kevin #Kampl, who drops out with a muscle problem. https://t.co/OeC1OLtGZi— RB Leipzig English (@RBLeipzig_EN) May 27, 2020
He isn’t but I’m glad he at least saw the field. One of the many reasons I want more young players going to Europe. It’s not easy breaking in and it’s even harder keeping your spot. Injury’s happen and you don’t always just get to walk back into your spot. You need to develop several parts of your game and offer more than just 1 thing (not saying Adams does or doesn’t). This experience will force Adams to grow as a player and person.
All they're doing playimg him there is creating a consensus with the fans that the RB position needs to be upgraded.
Maybe but these fans also know he’s not a RB and is playing out of position. I doubt they hold that against him. Especially considering he showed well as a DCM.
A couple more games in this position and we will devolve to discussing his potential merits as a left back.
He is hardly poor at RB IMO... or RWB for that matter. He just isn't any better than average at best. I actually think he is pretty good defensively there... he really only got beat once the whole game. But offensively, he wasn't good today other than being in the right position. He had 4 chances at high % crosses in the box and went 1 for 4. The last one was particularly poor as he had two guys open far post and tried the semi-cutback again. All that being said, I would rather him play that position than sit on the bench. Maybe if he gets more reps he will get more comfortable with the angles and plays moving forward.?.? I still think RBL could do a lot worse at RB w/ respect to D. Adams is an above average defender no matter where he plays.
Worry not my friend, if my keyboard prognostications on BS had ever come true you would have already heard about Timbers legend Clint Dempsey... and that inferno that broke out at soccer house leaving no survivors.
Couldn't watch today, but I understand that heads collided. Did Adams undergo a concussion protocol? Anything to worry about?
I didn't notice anyone checking up on Adams after that play, possibly because he appeared completely unfazed.
He used to be better offensively at r(w)b than inside. But subsequently he got more development inside. Now he's rusty. I'm pretty sure w/out looking RBL have a considerably better pt rate w/out him on the field. Don't think he's fully sharp physically either after the leg injuries. Not a lost season, but a step backward after his barnstorming debut.
