I’ll take Cafu over him I feel that’s not debatable. I’ll also take Philipp Lahm over him too although this one is more debatable.
This is a good point. Hakimi can also be used as a RW in our front 3, that position will be makeshift until we bring in you know who for the right side.
I'd take Cafu over him as well, mostly because I think they're pretty close to each other in terms of talent but Cafu had the edge in simply having the great genetics of not being born a rat face piece of shit.
We don't play with full backs though. We line up like we're playing with fullbacks, but on the pitch, that's certainly not the case, and especially so in Zidane's second stint. Casemiro drops back to play in between the CBs, and Dani/Marcelo just have a free reign to move forward. With Mendy, Casemiro has more freedom to move forward because Mendy likes to take less risks, but out on the right, Dani is still high up the pitch. We don't have true wingers, all of them aside from Rodrygo operate best cutting inside, which makes it paramount for our WBs to provide width and stay high up.
Martin Ødegaard's brilliant first season at La Real has led Real Madrid and Zidane to a fairly straightforward conclusion: Ødegaard will be recalled from his loan this summer and given his chance in the first team. [@diarioas] pic.twitter.com/LTQEjtZUMO— Infinite Madrid (@InfiniteMadrid) May 24, 2020 If Zidane is truly willing to give him a fair shot, this would revolutionize the midfield.
A midfield of kroos, Casemiro, Valverde and Martin would be utterly world class. Problem is if we are going with a trident upfront. An in form and motivated Kroos is a special player. Hard to replace. But if he regresses back to the form he had last season and half, then Martin should get a shot over him.
Add Camavinga to that list we need a squad full of strong midfielders unlike this season where we have 9 players for 3 positions up front, bad planning ?
Glad we are serious about a back up for Casemiro for once https://en.as.com/en/2020/05/24/football/1590325281_064280.html
All true, still there’s a constant debate about the holes and the highways that are left on Marcelo’s side, even when there was no comparison to him going forwards, we lamented that left side when we did not have the ball, even with Casemiro, we really don’t need another player like that, Even when Marcelo was at his best going forward quite a few of us still preferred Coentrao ( when he was focused ) at left back against tough opposition, a far better balanced player, so although we want our players to play high up the pitch we just cannot have them neglect their defensive responsibilities , so I hope Hakimi can provide better cover than Marcelo did, when we do not have the ball As for Mendy being more cautious, I’ve read that here a few times, from what I’ve watched I just don’t see that, he’s always high up the pitch too, he’s just not as good as Marcelo is at it, yet........ he cuts inside and everything, why it doesn’t seem to be that way to most I guess is because he is so quick to get back to defend and he’s a very good defender , but, IMO he bombs forward as much as anyone we’ve had at full/wing back
Coentrao was there at a time when we had no true defensive midfielder. Marcelo is not a full back in any sense of the word, and he has always been a wing back whether the coach liked it or not. On top of that, he's just not bothered defensively. People preferred Coentrao because at that point in time, we actually had Di Maria and Ronaldo, both still in their prime and both very much capable of providing width. With Casemiro here, I don't think we've used or needed to deploy them as full backs. Even as a WB, you are required to come back and cover defensively, but your main duty isn't to be to stay back cover your ground. I think Hakimi is an average defender, could definitely improve but he's nowhere near Marcelo level. I still think he's being far too cautious overall. He was far more confident on the ball and took far more risks offensively with Lyon, where as here I see him more concerned with ensuring he's getting back on defense. Maybe that's Zidane's instructions, but given that he benched him for the biggest stretch of the season, it's probably because he wanted more offense from his WBs given Hazard's injury and our struggles to score and felt trying to recover Marcelo was his best chance.
I think we'll spend the least amount of money possible. I can't think of one scenario where we buy a goalkeeper. Lunin will get his chance even if its off the strength of the club's profits crashing hard during the pandemic.
Estadio Deportivo: Sociedad are keen to take Kubo on loan, with Martin Odegaard already on-loan from Madrid. https://t.co/QpvM4khLlz— M•A•J (@Ultra_Suristic) May 25, 2020
Mbappé: "Zidane is my role model; he has made history" The PSG star spoke in the Daily Mirror about Cristiano Ronaldo: "He was my second idol. He has won a lot and is still a winner after so much success." Referents : "My first idol was Zidane for everything he achieved with the National Team. Then it was Cristiano. He has won a lot and is still a winner after so much success. Both have left their mark on the history of football and I want to leave my own chapter in the books. " The Champions League : "One of my great ambitions is to win the Champions League. Being part of PSG winning their first European Cup would be something very special." Ballon d'Or : "It would be good to win it, but it is not something that will take my sleep away. I don't think I will have to win it next season or the next after. There is no time limit. I will always put PSG and the National team as a priority. So, if the honors come from my performances, it will be an advantage. " Experience : "I'm always looking to improve. I play with so many experienced players that I'm looking to learn from them." https://as.com/futbol/2020/05/26/in...=QUNUVUFMSURBRA==&m3=MQ==&m4=dmlkZW8=&m5=MjE=
Imagine how many people were avainst Zidane's transfer? Imagine how many were mad about Cristiano? Lol, these two are still giving us returns on our investments.
Real Betis wants Real Madrid's Takefusa Kubo on loan next season, they've already contacted Los Blancos. There's also an interest from Real Sociedad. The club and Take will make a decision after the current season is over. [@mundodeportivo] pic.twitter.com/HVXp4M2hb0— Infinite Madrid (@InfiniteMadrid) May 27, 2020 Good to see a vibrant market for Kubo
We should prioritize the coaching philosophy for his next club. Mallorca clearly isn't a fit. Sociedad, Betis, and Villarreal would be my preference.
Sociedad makes so much sense, especially if Odegaard comes back to Madrid. They’ve shown they can play attack minded and allow their creative players to shine. The other two you mention would be fine as well, though I guess we need to see if any coaching changes will be made. Wouldn’t want Kubo to head somewhere unstable at this point. One of our young Brazilian players or Brahim Diaz could shine at Betis on the wing. Hell, I’d probably send out Asensio as well.
I'm torn on this, but I think if we don't address the RW situation this summer (which doesn't seem to be the case given the focus on Mbappe in 2021), I'd keep him around.
I would sell Lucas and let Modric and Marcelo go for free. Loan Mariano, Asensio and Brahim. I would run Benzema and Jovic centrally. Hazard, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Isco, Odegaard and Ceballos in the other attacking roles. Midfield I would run a combination of Casemiro with Kroos, Valverde, Odegaard, Camavinga and Ceballos. This is minimal expenditure, only needing to purchase Camavinga. If Jovic truly isn't going to be trusted then depending one what Reinier shows I probably keep Mariano. I don't believe we will spend to get Halaand.
Ceballos has no value at the moment so it wouldn't make sense to sell. Asensio for me needs to find who he is as a player and I don't believe he can do that with our need to develop the Brazilians and the pressure to perform at Madrid. We have to lean more on these Brazilian kids to start producing more and growing into what we hope they will become.
