That's what happens when you have a guy who's not a striker playing the position...Hazard drifts offside unnecessarily and botches the chance anyhow.
Dortmund needs better ball winners in cm and to lesser extent the wing. It's leading them to get bypassed for counter chances and have to build thru Bayern's defense too much.
Great ball from Reyna to set up Gotze. I think Gotze should have taken the shot himself instead of laying it off.
This is kinda bizarre but Reyna reminds me of an ostrich out there. He's big, slightly awkward looking when he runs, and eats up a TON of space really fast. I would almost label him deceptively fast.
Why didn't Witsel start the match? Dahoud's and Delaney's quality for Dortmund has always been questionable, and they don't provide much defensive chops.
Dortmund playing ball into feet rather than ball into space, which is making it really easy for a defensive minded Bayern to defend them.
Gio needs to take on players more when he receives the ball on the wing. Very much has the capability, but is overly deferential early in his career.
I think it just wasn't going to happen for Dortmund with Sancho not fit enough to start and Haaland going off injured. They need to be at 100% to take out Bayern.
