Except that Nick Young had a multi-year career in the NBA which by comparison standards would be like having multiple years on champion's league caliber teams. So yeah, I'd take that. Except that I don't like Nick Young's game, so I wouldn't be a huge fan of this hypothetical player . Not current Nick Young haha, that's definitely not something we need.
I wish the interviewer had asked some better questions. Not a word about the new deal he just signed with Barça and his promotion to the B team. Or did I space out and miss it?
The Royal Spanish Football Federation has cancelled the remainder of the Segunda Division B campaign but hope to still be able to play the promotion playoffs. Barcelona B would qualify for the promotion playoffs as they were second in Group 3 at the time of cancellation, 1 point off of first place.
1263814993402789888 is not a valid tweet id Translates to the youth Arnau Tenas, Konrad, Gerard, Nico, Jaume Jardí, Ilaix, Mika, Nils and Álvaro Sanz have passed the medical review of Barça B at Ciutat Esportiva. Also, the phrasing as well as the others players listed seem to reflect that he is still on an academy deal at the moment.
This is the referenced source. It doesn't say anything other than the OP article did. https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futb...761303/barca-cantera-konrad-de-la-fuente.html I'm wondering if it might not be better for Konrad to cool his heels at Barça this year. With their financial predicament, reported by @feyenoordsoccerfan in the Dest thread, causing them to sell off first team players, they will likely look to the "Cantera" to fill holes in the squad this year.
I like your way of thinking but is KDLF towards the top of the Barca B pecking order having moved up so quickly that he would have a shot at seeing some first team minutes? I don’t think Barcelona is so much in debt like ManU is that we should expect much, but maybe Konrad shows well enough.
I guess it depends on what holes they wind up having that need filling. I couldn't say who all is above Konrad at winger on Barça B - I'd guess Collado is the starter but he has already been mentioned as one to move upl - but Konrad was rated similarly to Ansu while they were both Juveniles. I'm not sure if Ansu got astronomically better or if Konrad didn't progress. Another possibility for the wing is Nils Mortimer who I used to rate below KDLF. The players mentioned that Barcelona are trying to offload the quickest are Coutinho, Dembélé, Umtiti, Rakitic, Vidal and several players that are currently out on loan. Whether Konrad gets considered as a depth option will probably depend on the health of those above him in the pecking order. Now that I think of it logically, it might be pie in the sky thinking on my part. But I could see it being considered if, for example, Konrad leads the Bs to a promotion to Segunda in the playoffs next month.
Nah Barca's not in that much trouble but the hope is they'd call up some of the more senior players from that team leaving more minutes for Konrad to start games for Barca B. That's what people should want. Him starting 90 for B week in and week out. His play while there is going to determine his career. If he's good he'll land somewhere good, even if it means leaving Barca.
According to this report, admittedly speculative, Barça are determined not to let any more B Team players go and, specifically, that Konrad staying at Barça is close to 100%. Konrad de la Fuente se quedará casi al 100% https://unionfutbolera.com/2020/05/26/el-barca-muestra-mas-confianza-en-la-cantera/
El Barça B vuelve a los entrenamientos The B Team returned to individual training on Friday. It's worth mentioning the presence of the Youth A players Mika, Peque, Iliax, and Konrad de la Fuente, who were with the team before the coronavirus shutdown. To these have been added Nils Mortimer, Nico Gonzalez, Jaume Jaurdí, and Álvaro Sanz. The new players are added due to the absences of Ansu Fati, Iñaki Peña, Riqui Puig, Ronald Araujo, Alex Collado and Monchu who are training with the first team. https://www.timejust.es/deportes/el-barca-b-vuelve-a-los-entrenamientos/
George Brett....hemorrhoids. My god, you are dating yourself and the rest of us who know exactly what you're talking about. Get off my lawn.
Great clip from Barcelona La Masia director @PatrickKluivert on the promising #USMNT youngster Konrad de la Fuente from today's episode of The Hat Trick presented by @IntChampionsCup.Listen here: https://t.co/Nz9eiGOq6D pic.twitter.com/efMLQ57v21— Charlie Stillitano (@C_Stillitano) May 26, 2020
wonder if we dont need to rethink konrads path at barca now that we are seeing they are clearly under unprecedented in the modern era financial pressure as a club?
What is the level competition will he face with Barca B? Any other leagues that might compare as a frame of reference for me as I have no idea.
Well, they play in Segunda División B, which is the 3rd tier of Spanish football. There are 80 teams in 4 groups, and the average total market value looks to be around 3M Euros (if you take out the Madrid clubs), which is roughly in line with the Finnish first division or the Scottish Championship. So, aside from a few games against B teams of other top clubs, pretty low level competition it seems.
