I will just leave this here, with the comment that perhaps it is not as cut and dried as you all think.

 

There are probably as many articles showing it helps slow the spread of coronavirus. Do you wear one?

I agree that it does not appear to be cut and dried, but the study referred to in the Medical News Today piece notes that it is not clear how much wearing a mask can reduce the trajectory of droplets that are understood to carry the virus. Wearing a mask is for the benefit of others, and reduction of the likelihood of transmission is a reasonable basis to wear a mask. It certainly isn't going to make people more likely to transmit the virus, I would say.
