The gist of what I'm getting from Tara Reade is that she's Janice Soprano. No, it's not. It's basic journalism to look into somebody. Especially if it's something as high profile as this. If I'm researching a story, I'm calling the relevant people. If I learn from said people something about a person, then I'm following up. She isn't being doxed here as Mike put it. It's also quite telling that I haven't seen a lawsuit from Tara Reade at all since this broke.
She might be getting paid off by some Wingnut outfit like Real 'Mericans For the Truth About Sleepy Joe Biden.
No one should take any joy in this digging into her personal life, however, when you have a claim that is very old and very difficult to establish through other evidence, we are left with only the claim itself and a couple of statements that don’t explicitly reference a sexual assault. So, much as the media did with Anita Hill and with Christine Blasey Ford, they need to determine if the claimant has a history of truthfulness. We don’t have much else to go on.
Destroying somebody who is being used by others is not good, personally and politically. Because we are better than 4chan/8chan. When it gets to the point of have a "friend" say she has a mental condition, and printing that (and posting a link to the article), that is too far. As far as I can tell, this is not an issue anymore. It is only of interest to those who want to destroy another women.
It's also worth noting that most of the stuff that has come out about Reade is stuff the reporters found while investigating her claims, both when she first said it was just unwanted touching and when she changed it to her raping her.
Normally I would agree with you but you're forgetting the tragedy of 1990 where the alleged perp never denied the deed.

I'm trying to figure out if this post is some kind of mindless "gotcha libs!!!!!!" bullshit, or mindless "must destroy the enemy" bullshit. I half agree. If she stops doing media to tarnish Biden, then the right thing to do is stop looking into her past life. But if she keeps pushing her story, well, the media is obligated to continue trying to determine her credibility.
Come on now. Tara Reade has made an accusation that she says should disqualify Joe Biden from becoming President. Tens of millions of American agree with her. Of course any lies that she has previously made will be surfaced, and of course those lies are relevant in assessing her claim.

Didn't she claim to be a Perfesser at a college where she took classes but never graduated? Not like it's really hard to verify these kinds of things. HR people do it all the time when someone is close to being hired for a job--one phone call to the University to ask whether the person has the degree that they claim to have.
