I went to get a hair cut and beard trim. They said they aren't allowed to do beards yet. Place was crowded with 6 chairs in action when I was there and a long wait list. The next chair was less than 6 feet away so they had plexiglass barriers on wheels they rolled into place between chairs. I took off my mask when I sat down and she said I had to wear it during the cut. She had me hold it in place when she was cutting around my ears and removed the loop. Instead of the usual shower curtain type dropcloths, they were using disposable ones. I didn't see the spraydown on my chair before I went back but did see chairs being sprayed with disinfectant between customers. So I"m not particularly worried about contracting covid during my time at the barber shop. It was my first trip out of the house in over a week so I went to the grocery and did curbside pickup for dinner. Neither of those caused concern either.
As long as masks are required in shopping and curb pickup is touch less you should have more confidence in those.
She was masked and gloved. While in theory the virus can be spread by handling something with virus particles on the surface, that's not really worth worrying about. The huge majority of spread is respiratory. The stylist was behind me the whole time and not coughing or sneezing. So it's not like we were making out or something. It's on a par with taking your car in for service and the part where they call you over to upsell you on new filters or a powerflush or whatever.
I just got injured in a car accident this Saturday, but I'm even afraid to go see a lawyer to get medical compensation...
It was below freezing yesterday morning and 85 degrees this afternoon, followed by thunderstorms and tornadoes. Plus my neighbor has seen a couple of bears, which are very rare in my locality, so I have to keep a close eye on my pet pig. I blame Tjin-ah for canceling Spring and releasing carnivores to hunt the local porcine.
Pop your trunk, they put it in your trunk, you spray it in disinfectant when you get home, then take it out of the trunk.
Right but there are still grubby little shop worker fingerprints all over the goods. My store is doing order online, pickup in store and I'm seeing 60+ orders in the queue when I start at 5 am. I think we're planning to move to curbside pickup but there are logistical issues to overcome.
I have actually come up with a business idea for when the next spike in cases comes about, and I'm looking for investors. It's called Quarantine Massage. You pay $100, I come to your home, I stay six feet away from you the whole time, I never touch you, I leave, and the whole thing rubs you the wrong way.

I mean if you have all these European leagues starting back up again, then shouldn't MLS take their lead and do the same?
Those leagues have science based protocols in place, a robust testing and tracing infrastructure, and actual consequences for breaking those protocols. I believe Garner is waiting for the same things prior to MLS starting up.
Depends where you are .I'm my rural county,my wife hairdresser gave her first dibs whenever Northern NY gets to Phase 2.
Frankly, some league, somewhere in the world was going to go first. Once that happens, I think the other leagues and the other countries would be wise to sit back and relax and see how it goes, and learn from it.
"All these European leagues", did I miss something? Isn't Germany not only the only one to re-start, but even the only one to even have a date to re-start?
