The Roots team might survive, but NISA itself seems fly by night. The Philly team hasn’t been paying players, San Diego had no players or staff 8 weeks before the first game (and are playing in an old NFL venue).

The Deltas folded the NASL sounds a lot better than the 35 year excuse of always putting the blame on the Cosmos....

Monterrey Bay would be a great name, simple and obvious but unique. Moving a team from Fresno to Monterrey will go down as a terrible decision, though. Monterrey is not big enough to support a second division team, probably not even if you toss in Salinas, whereas Fresno was doing just fine (they're only moving because of local govt resistance to their stadium plan). Fresno is perfect for the second division, Monterrey probably should be third division. Fresno FC had a terribly generic name and crest... They took over the Fresno Fuego (turned them into Fresno FC U-23s), they should have just used that branding as it would have been a million times better than what they came up with. The former crest looks like it was made by some college kid in the early 1990s. The latter looks professionally designed, it may not be the most "classy" logo but this isn't for MLS it's the lower divisions (see minor league baseball, arena football, etc.) and it works well for that...
Supposedly , Fresno couldn’t afford a team and that’s why they dropped out. The Fuego had sponsors and fielded an amateur PDL that never paid their players. I think they had a sweet deal with the stadium but gave away tickets. When the city and team moved up to the USL, it was just too expensive and they certainly couldn’t support it. Monterrey County has a population of 420k. Then Salinas and south county has a huge Mexican and Mexican -American community. This coupled with the fact that they are located closer to San Jose , they can eventually or possibly partner with the Quakes and that will help the team. The Earthquake can easily be loan players for a week or two and all they have to go is take a 90 minute drive down 101 as opposed to a five hour drive or flying to Reno. Ramiro told me he will be involved with coaching somewhat and I believe Frank Yallop will also be some kind of director. The California Jaguars had a good concept in the early MLS days but it was a different time. I really hope it works in the end. I’m assuming it all comes back to what will happen with potential ownerships when this Covid situation subsides.
