I would usually agree, but we've got no clue when the next transfer window will be, and i would also assume that players will be quicker to sign new contracts considering the current climate of job and wage insecurity in sports.

In an article written by Fabrizio Romano (a Tier 1 source imo), it talks about AC Milan now backing off Camavinga because Real Madrid is first in line to get him. It says we have already spoken to his entourage through Zidane who has sponsored the move.

This has a Ferland Mendy type of feel to it, who was also linked to a number of top European clubs (including Barca). Hopefully we can get it done (assuming there is an opportunity to do so post the pandemic stage).

Real Madrid are no longer in a position to pay Ajax's asking price of 60m euros for Van de Beek after the coronacrisis. He's likely to stay at Ajax for one more season. [@VI_nl] https://t.co/NUf3Z1fprG

His long diagonal passes out wide aren't nearly what they were either. I'm not sure if it's by design or age of the squad but we don't move the ball nearly as dynamically out of the as we did when we were best counter attacking team in Europe.

He talked about playing time being key.

Speaking of playing time and responsibility. I don't think Varane has been held to account, he was horrible last year and has been remarkably absent minded at times this season too. He really needs competition for a starting spot. And Ramos needs to start managing his minutes to lengthen his career.

I'd prefer a loan back to current club for next season and a mandatory name change so it's easier to talk about the player.

It was a media invention. We probably had interest in the summer and Zidane rightfully killed it.

Thank God sense prevailed because less than 12 months ago I was battling some people on here about Odegaard being superior and actually a midfielder and they were arguing VdB was.

    Madness

The report claims that the transfer is off because the club can't afford to pay a 60 mil. transfer by the way, not that we don't have enough interest in the player.

Mundo Deportivo also tried to act like the club is going to struggle because of the measures its taking by saying that we'd offer Dortmund Achraf to be able to afford Håland.

He never made sense for me. We have more than enough of faux-forwards already. Invest in Camavinga and bring Odegaard back, and we have fixed midfield - for probably less than 50M net considering we should sell Modrić and James.

Mundo is full of shit. Not surprising considering their beloved Barca is essentially collapsing. Tons of financial issues, while Barto has gone full Dictator - 3/4 board members resigned and more to follow.

Just selling Modrić and James provide substantial amount of funds in case of 50/60M transfer. I imagine we are saving cash for priorities such as Camavinga, instead of investing in a player who is not needed.

It seems Zidane is not exactly impressed by Militao.

That would be shocking, Militao has played reasonably well in the limited chances he was given. Would be a huge mistake to give up on him.

I'd hope Upamecano interest is with Ramos' age and Nacho's lack of ability in mind.

They swore he was a midfielder. Then said Odegaard was a faux forward.

    It was madness.

I doubt Militao agrees to being 4th choice given his age and quality. Considering Upamecano is definitely coming to replace Ramos.
