I don't think wanting to stay a child is a male only thing. I've met so many young people of both genders who don't want kids. It's maybe 50% right now for 25-35 year olds. A lot of that is they don't want the responsibility of kids and the losing their fun at anytime.

It's interesting how different people see things completely opposite of each other. IMHO the current president is trying to remove victimization. Don't be corralled by what you can say by SJW's. Don't be stuck in a party that promises help by making you reliant on the government instead of yourself (welfare vs a job). Don't be persuaded that Americans can no longer compete with other countries for certain types of jobs and just let all those jobs go somewhere else etc. It's why I don't get angry at anyone who thinks differently about politics anymore than I would about food, movies, music etc. We all have different experiences and the different ideas and having to prove them against an opposing one is what makes us great.

Both because they are all humans.

Donovan and other pro athletes have worked very hard to get where they are.

Showing up to multi crap jobs doesn't require hard work. I have been a very low level athlete and a store clerk. Wrestling practice is a lot more demanding.

SJWs and Trump are opposite sides of the same coin: self/group-victimization as a dominate discourse in American culture. Trump is essentially a white Marion Barry. Substitute 'the man', 'white people', and 'the system' for 'the deep state', 'dark people', 'the media', and 'Democratic Party'. Trump ran on a platform of poor white victimization.

This is just tribalistic kant. No president made it easier and non-stymatic to claim welfare benefits than W. Bush did. Trump is not exactly an avatar of self-reliance.

    Which jobs?

I break the drives down into Primal Inner Drives and Maturity Inner Drives...

The Male Primal Drives: Eros and Thanos Drive
The Female Primal Drives: Helen and Eve Drive

    in comparison,
the Male Maturity Drives: The Cosmic and Pan Drive
    And..
The Female Maturity Drives: the Gaia and the Artemis Drive.

In Jungian psychology, much of the study of the archetypes is on the Great Mother and the Child - although often, this Child is associated with a male Child. Still, the Artemis Drive is the female drive to remain young, a virgin (of sorts), and to have their head in the clouds.

I try to use a lot of literature too in the study of these principles. One of my favorite reference to the Artemis Drive is Anne of Green Gables. I believe she is a strong reference to a character of such a Drive. I also can look at my own daughter - she’s 16, and she still is a daydreamer. I’d argue that daydreaming is part of her Artemis Drive.

Ultimately, the point is everyone feels the pull of their drives... I feel it in all ways. Obviously, I’m a still a young enough healthy male, so I still crave sex. Likewise, because I’m a healthy male, I have a side of me that’s very competitive, aggressive, and capable of destroying others. In truth, I never knew how prevalent that side of me was until I went to Iraq, and removed the constraints of Civilization. What I learned was that not only was I capable of violence. But I was capable of enjoying it too. There was something inside my nature that enjoyed the hunt. And I also learned the importance of disciplining such a Drive. More so, like other males, I wrestle with the same phenomenology of do I mature into wisdom and fulfill my destiny or do I refuse such a call and maintain a sense of boyhood?

The point of the discussion is not for debating the rightness and wrongness of a person or a sex, but a means to understand what’s driving the personality and to become aware of the sides of one’s Self which their shadow they must conquer.

On politics, my theory is that individuals whose Drives seem more consistent with the Masculine Inner Drive, seeking the archetypal Father, tend to vote more right. And those whose Drives seem more consistent with the Feminine Inner Drives, seeking the archetypal Mother, tend to vote more left.

    Is either wrong?

I’d have to say no. And, I have to say so, even as a man who identifies more with the right in politics. I do so because I value leadership, self-reliance, discipline, resiliency, strength, industry, exploration, and hard work - archetypal male characteristics. Much more so than acceptance, empathy, and kindness - archetypal feminine characteristics. I confess that it’s difficult for me to appreciate the contribution of the other side. But there’s a reason why we are pulled by different forces. For instance, My wife is rather apolitical, but for all intents and purposes, she balances me and keeps me from going overboard, which is my tendency. In other words, she compliments me because she checks my nature. Thus, the problem that I see with much of society today is that they forget the complimentary functions of each other, and instead, work to cannibalize the other.

It’s why, part of me, has joked that when there is a change of presidency, either in 2022 or 2026, we’d all benefit from a marriage and family therapist.

The current president is trying to remove victimization from everyone but himself. He's the ultimate victim of injustice, as he's attested many many times.

I don't think anyone, other than inveterate globalists, some manufacturing couldn't be brought back. In any event, after this catastrophe passes, there will likely be a new dispensation with respect to trade. Can't count on the Chinese to be such a huge part of our supply chains.

I find it interesting that on the previous post you say the we are blind to the president's victimization and on this post say a lot of manufacturing could be brought back which he has said for years and has been doing.

Globalism nicely dovetails with the views of SJWs. An anti-free trade mentality dovetails nicely with the views of nativists. Opposite sides of the victim coin that is the common currency.

Also, one need not be an SJW to be a globalist. Mitt Romney, certainly no SJW, was an uber-globalist. Likewise, one need not be a nativist to understand the limits of free trade. I think there are limits to free trade when hegemonic, despotic regimes are involved. Trump has been an anti-free trader since the 80s. Back then, Japan was the focus of his ire. There has always a racialist, nativist angle to rhetoric.

Only some manufacturing can be brought back. The real renaissance in that area will likely come through 3d printing and cnc machining.

Given that this European season is effectively over, unless something miraculous happens, I thought it might be time to speculate on the situation of our Yanks for next season. Particularly, I'm thinking about which guys will be playing for good Euro clubs (i.e., clubs in the big 4 or successful clubs outside that, like Ajax) next season. And it might give us something soccer-related to kick around...

Very likely to be a good club:
    Pulisic (Chelsea)
Yedlin (Newcastle)--Maybe a little bit of a question mark here, but I figure he sticks at least as a solid backup option
Steffen (Man City)--Rumors are pointing to him getting the backup job at City, but even if that doesn't happen, I'm sure some Bundesliga team would be happy to have him.
    Adams (Leipzig)
    McKennie (Schalke)
    Brooks (Wolfsburg)
    Chandler (Frankfurt)
    Reyna (Dortmund)
Weah (Lille)--Hopefully his hamstrings are good to go come the fall
Dest (Ajax)--Rumors that he might go to Bayern, but either way, he's going to be with a good club

Guys already in Europe who potentially will be at a good club:
Sargent (Werder Bremen)--No idea how they'll handle pro/rel this year, but Werder Bremen are in one of the auto relegation spots right now, and even if they finish the season, I wouldn't bet on them to stay up. The question is whether Sargent goes down with them, or makes a move to a better team.
Morales (Duesseldorf)--In the playoff spot for relegation and would play Hamburg as things stand. It seems like a toss-up to me.
Soto (Hannover)--Lost year at Hannover, but rumors that PSV was interested. Maybe his U-20 WC performance gets him a shot with a good club.
Llanez (Wolfsburg)--Supposed to start training with the 1st team, so he might be better than 50/50 to get minutes in the Bundesliga in the fall.
Ledezma (PSV)--Just got a new deal and club seems to rate him.
Otasowie (Wolves)--Were his earlier appearances just a tease to get him to sign a new deal, or is he actually close to being a 1st-team regular?
Horvath (Brugges)--Obviously will be on the move this summer, and I'd bet he has to move down before he gets a shot to move up again, but maybe a lower-tier Bundesliga team would take a chance.
Novakovich (Frosinone)--In a promotion playoff spot for Serie A as of now
Richards (Bayern)--I don't think he's in the 1st-team plans at Bayern, but maybe he gets a loan to another club in the Bundesliga.

MLS guys likely to move to good clubs:
Cannon (FC Dallas)--We already know he was planning on moving this summer, if the virus doesn't screw up the transfer market too badly.
Scally (NYCFC)--Already signed with Gladbach. The question is whether he goes to the 1st-team for the 2nd-half of the season or starts with the U-19s/23s.
I'd say any other MLS guys are too speculative.

That gives us 10 guys for sure at good clubs and another 11 with a decent shot of breaking into the first team at a good club sometime next season. Anyone else I'm missing?

KDLF re-upped with Barca who then promoted him to Barca B. He had the most dribbles in the UEFA Youth League. I'm hoping for a transfer.

Antonee Robinson is someone I forgot in the "potentially at a good club" category. If his heart procedure went well, and he gets a clean bill of health, it seems likely he'll have a chance to move up the ladder.

Thanks for getting us back on track... I think the Coronavirus has us all going a little bonkers.

Regarding YA... my advice to each.

    Stay Put:
-Christian Pulisic - should be healthy
-Tim Weah - might be healthy
    -Weston McKennie
    -Sergino Dest
    -Tyler Adams
    -Tim Chandler
    -John Brooks
-DeAndre Yedlin - Have faith he can win spot back.
    -Andrija Novakovich
    -Richard Ledezma
    -Chris Durkin
    -Chris Gloster

Need to push for a loan:
    -Owen Otasowie

    -Uly Llanez
    -Taylor Booth
    -Chris Richards
    -Konrad de la Fuente

Need to get away from parent-Club
-Cameron Carter-Vickers (Tottenham) > I’d push for a transfer to Luton.
-Matt Miazga (Chelsea) > I’d push for a full transfer to Reading.
-Erik Palmer-Brown (Man City) > I’d think he could start for a lower level Bundesliga club.
-Zack Steffen (Man City) > I’d rather him start than be a back-up.

-Antonee Robinson - Will Milan still be asking? Either way, he’s ready to start in a league in the big 5.
-Emmanuel Sabbi - Belgium or Netherlands
-Christian Cappis - Belgium or Netherlands
-Alfredo Morales - good enough to stay on top flight.

Need Transfer - Downgrade or Lateral:
-Ethan Horvath > I’d advise a lower club in Belgium.
-Josh Sargent > I’d advise the Eredivise
-Alex Mendez > I doubt he’s good enough for Ajax, but he might catch on with a lower level Eredivise side

MLS need to try their luck abroad:
-Brenden Aaronson > Eredivise or Bundesliga
-Paxton Pomykal > Eredivise or Bundesliga
-Reggie Cannon > Low Big 5 level.
    -Miles Robinson > Germany.
-Aaron Long > Low Big 5 level.
-Walker Zimmerman > Low Big 5 level.
-Jackson Yuiell > Championship might be a good start.
-Djordje Mihailovic > I’d try a low level team in Netherlands or Belgium.
-Gianluca Busio > Dortmund-type club that he can understudy for a year or two.
-Jesus Ferreira > Eredivise or Belgium

YA need to come to MLS:
    -Bobby Wood
    -Julian Green
    -Aron Johannsson
    -Luca De la Torre
    -Joel Sonora
    -Alan Sonora

    -Matko Miljevic
    -Lynden Gooch
    -Brendan Hines-Ike
    -Romain Gall
    -Kenny Saief
    -Jonathan Klinsmann
    -Brady Scott
    -Shaq Moore
    -Mukwalle Akale
    -Ventura Alvarado
    -Fabian Johnson
    -Mikkel Diskerud
    -Jonathan Amon

There is no way, barring some atypical political intervention, corporations will walk away from the lucrative manufacturing deals they have in China. Pollution and work conditions that have led to the deaths of countless numbers of people have not significantly impacted trade with China so I see no reason this will. I'm sure they will look at ways to mitigate the impact of supply chain shocks like this, but they're not going to cut off their arm to save a finger.

China? no. Full on returning manufacturing home? No. But, diversification of supply chains of priority one stuff to say.........Mexico for quick transit? Priority two supply chains moved to Vietnam and Malaysia to spite China? Yes. I am seeing that happen literally right now.

Jesus Christ, we are severely lacking soccer boys :(

So, to summarize the last 20 posts or so...Trump has an innate drive that causes him to want to prevent “them” from being in the US and instead feels we should create more jobs for Americans, especially young ones who otherwise would take a more global view towards employment. He wants Americans here so they can manufacture more goals.

And everybody accuses the other guys of being more frequent divers (victims).
