You're never too old to tailgate.

We once barbequed a goat before one of the Quakes games. I had a couple of tailgate birthday parties and when my current wife and I were married, we had a wedding party before and after a game, taking the entire group to the game. In '76, we had visitors from Germany for the Cosmos game and we had a big tailgate deal with cracked crab, cocktails, etc. They couldn't believe Americans had such parties at games. One of them played semi-pro in Germany and really enjoyed seeing Pele.

Yeah we had parties at the Spartan Stadium back lot between 7th & 10th Street. The NASL players loved coming by to greet everyone but they wouldn't eat or drink until the aftershock parties.....

I only remember a few during the MLS era. Mostly during the 1996 inaugural year. Can’t recall any after that...I attended a few catered affairs at Buck Shaw too but that was about it..

The NASL was formed from a merger of the NPSL and USA (United Socer Association)
The USA which lasted only a year (1967) actually imported entire foreign teams to compete and some of these team names were reflected in the league team names.

    Boston Rovers-Shamrock Rovers (Ireland)
    Chicago Mustangs-Cagliari Calcio (Italy)
    Cleveland Stokers-Stoke City (England)
    Dallas Tornado-Dundee United (Scotland)
    Detroit Cougars-Glentoran (Northern Ireland)
    Houston Stars-Bangu AC (Brazil)
    Los Angeles Wolves-Wolverhampton Wanderers (England)
    New York Skyliners-C.A. Cerro (Urauguay)
San Francisco Golden Gate Gales-ADO Den Haag (Netherlands)
    Toronto City-Hibernian (Scotland)
    Vancouver Royal Canadians-Sunderland (Emgland)
    Washington Whips-Aberdeen (Scotland)

Is that your creation, Falvo? I see both of San Jose's logo's are depicted.
Whoever did it used Seattle's logo for the last year in the league, not their first 9 years.
