You would have been one of those also rooting for Adi to succeed so that we could get out of this little war with less calamity.

You can be against whoever holds an office and hope for your country to do well -at the same time.

Stilts, I think you are missing the point. Its not about Hillary or the election. She's not the president and the election is over. This is about the man in power, his competence or lack of it.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I hear Trump repeat ,"No one could have seen anything like this happen"
Well YES they could . After the ebola crisis your govt created a pandemic response team which Trump dissolved shortly after coming to power.

    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/wor...anded-pandemic-unit-that-experts-had-praised/

Even today with all that is going on thousands infected , predictions of hundreds of thousand deaths possibly millions there is still no national policy re the pandemic. States are enacting their own shelter at home policies which most have in place but others do not.

    https://www.sfgate.com/coronavirus/article/states-with-no-shelter-in-place-orders-15166557.php

Trump's travel restrictions btwn the US and China were criticized as being an unnecessary response to the discovery of the virus in the US in late January. it makes sense to believe that his instincts were good.

The problem is that if the virus was already here, which it clearly was then shutting down flights was never going to be enough. Testing , testing , testing and more testing to discover who has it and the quarantine the infected. That never happened . Tests didn't work so delays while new test kits prepared. Then insufficient # of labs to actually do the tests and so on.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/03/coronavirus-testing-numbers/607714/

I don't like Trump nor Hillary for that matter but I do think he is the wrong guy to have as a leader in a crisis like this.

One can think an office-holder should/could do more, but that isn't the same as being "against" them. You can question their policies and, as a private citizen, protest, try to rally support for opposing opinions on how to proceed in a crisis, but that's not the same as being "against" them, in the sense that many on the Left are against Trump.

People are saying that the answer to the crisis was more testing earlier. That's part of the answer. The whole answer was and is quarantining. If you don't gather in groups, you don't spread the virus. Containment has always been the best strategy, and the travel restrictions implemented by Trump were part of a containment strategy.

The chief officials in New York were very late to the party on that account, and that is part and parcel of why NY is so hard-hit by the virus

HRC couldn't handle a tiny little blip on the screen. her inaction caused the deaths of a small number of people. if anyone thinks she would handle a bigger blip, i don't understand why.

    Hillary. Benghazi.
The two fall backs of deflection. After millions spent with by the likes of that hayseed Trey Goudy over four years nothing ever came of it. Yet!!!

Back to reality. Trump accuses nurses on the front line of theft of supplies and possibly reselling on a black market. The people who put their lives on the line to go into disease ridden hospitals every day to do their best to help.

At the same time this administration is selling, sending literally tons of safety gear overseas. Stuff that is desperately needed.

incompetent, illegal, money grubbing, stupidity. Take your pick.

Are you going to fall for that. He voted for a lying grifter with a history of losing. He makes weak excuses for him, evoking Hilarys name as the usual deflection.

More concerned with jealousy of a better president and trying to reverse everything obama did. At the expense of lives.

stilts once posted here on the Liverpool board that. The Affordable Healthcare Act will cost thousands more lives than the War in Iran.

Trump in his incredible stupid. “It’s a Hoax” will (murder) be responsible a couple of hundred thousand deaths.

    I hate these fkn people.

    All so true.

Never knew there was actually a name for it (Dunning-Kruger effect), but have always thought there is nothing more dangerous than someone who thinks they are smart but really aren't. I've met a few in my life. I'm sure we all have. Generally just smile politely, move on with my life and leave them to it. Unfortunately, this one is President of the USA so affects everyone on the planet whether we like it or not.

Conversely, you don't have to be a genius to be a good leader. The key is acknowledging your weaknesses and finding expert advice to help you in those areas. Clearly not Trump's style:

    Zaq --

Please point to one thing that these people have done in the face of a comparable crisis that demonstrates that they would be better suited to be the Commander in Chief.

    a). Hilary Clinton
    b). Barack Obama
    c). Mitt Romney
    d). John McCain
    f). John Kerry
    g). Al Gore
    h). Bill Clinton
    i). Bob Dole
    j). George H.W.

I'm especially looking forward to your Al Gore notation.

I'm going to say this for the umpteenth time because some of you don't seem to understand the concept.

In 2016, the choice of future Commander in Chief was Trump or Clinton.

    There was no other choice.

    We got Trump.

Nothing that Madame Clinton has done in the face of a crisis commends her to be the Commander in Chief NOW. NOTHING.

And to sharpen the pencil a bit more, after the covid-19 virus entered the US in January, so far as we know, what the Democrats were doing, principally, was trying to remove the current Commander in Chief from office. EVERYBODY knew that was a fool's errand, but that didn't deter Schiff and Pelosi one iota.

And to make matters worse, Schiff and Pelosi are focusing their attention on continuing to try to make Trump look bad -- he does fine on his own -- instead of attending to the IMMEDIATE needs of their constituents.

Literally none of them are narcissistic, compulsive liars. So that already qualifies them as a better leader in any kind of crisis. There is no "comparable crisis" that anyone alive has dealt with, so that's not a fair question.

Seriously, all these mental gymnastics for this incredible piece of shit. Why? To "own the libs?" The constant lying doesn't bother you? The tired same 5 lines about everything ("no one knows as much as I do;" "it's great, it's beautiful.") don't bother you? F ucking hell...

Trump doesn’t need help from Schiff or Pelosi to make him look bad. then I’ll say again. If it wasn’t for fools easily taken in by a Grifter who had a tv show and a sting of failed businesses. Not to mention that abomination the electorate college. Hilary won by several million popular votes. I
doubt very much we’d be as bad off as we are.

You say you regret voting trump. But your worship of him as the second coming belies that.

    Holy shit!!!

it looks like both you and Trump haven’t figured out whose job it is to lead and control in times of trouble. You’re the one who calls him President even though he doesn’t understand the word presidential. Like all bullies he’s to scared to do the right thing. Governor Cuomo is showing haw a leader should act. So Trump is killing New Yorkers in spite. By selling vital supplies overseas but making sure that Florida has plenty.

He finally found a man to help in Dr Fauci. So because he comes across smarter than the glorious leader he gettin fkn Death Threats from from people like you. Trump worshipers.

Here is one for the liberal lot on here:

Would you rather have two terms of obama followed by Trump, or would you sacrifice his second term for two terms of Romney with Trump nowhere to be seen?

The current situation in NY is a complete sh*t show.

The longer NYC is in lockdown the more the number of cases seem to increase. How is that happening? With the city having been shutdown officially for ten days (March 24) and unofficially (employers were shutting down offices, restaurants were closing, etc) way in advance of that date, peak cases should be happening now, but I have a feeling they're not close to the peak yet.

While people are praising Cuomo, the guy had the evidence, and the support of the mayor, to issue a shelter in place order but chose to delay. if you believe S-I-P is the needed remedy and saves lives, then you have to consider him a failure on this issue. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/18/cuo...shelter-in-place-order-for-new-york-city.html

NYC is the #1 terror target in the country. They say they have prepared for emergencies and attacks and the like - then why the f*ck do they have not the needed medical supplies to handle a crisis? If a biological agent was used in the subway system, did they have enough PPE and ventilators to treat all those affected and protect the healthcare workers? Again, Cuomo is a complete failure on this issue.

The CITY of New York (8.63M) has a larger fiscal budget than the entire STATE of Florida (21M). What the f*ck are the crooked politicians doing with all of this money? Can any NY politicians be taken seriously with all the resources at their disposal and with all their 'planning' for disaster/emergency/attack and THIS is the result? Overcrowded hospitals, unprotected doctors and nurses, and a panicked public is all you have. Again, Cuomo and De Blasio, are complete, and total, failures.

The fact that the media, and all of you, want to blame Trump for all this is insane.
But then again, I'm racist because I've called it the Wuhan virus before, so what do I know?
