This is the lowlight video from the Bundesliga season. Check out the situation in #1. I think this is correct but I'm not a ref, so I wanted more informed opinions, and to share a funny moment.
It was discussed when it happened either in the Bundesliga or VAR thread. In summary it was technically the correct decision, but clearly it shows the unintended consequences of VAR.
Incidentally, the big blooper here in #4 is not just that the keeper misplayed the ball, but that he clearly doesn't know that he would have been well within his right to then bat the ball away with his hand.
Agreed! No one expected this call, the law change in my opinion was to address "real" interference such as a substitute in that area stopping a goal not a ball going out for a goal kick. No call initially by the on field team, everyone seemed fine with the goal kick that was already set up. Letter of the law PK - spirit, not so sure so while VAR corrected an error (I do not know what they are charged with from their organization) I have to hope this is not the intent of VAR.
