There is no decision when it comes to putting food on the table.

If anyone from Sockers (coach/staff/etc) is on here I’d watch what Cadence is doing with their live feeds training etc - I know Sockers has some coaches doing some of this but it’s not instituted club wide.

in a couple of years this will be part and parcel of training program by the best most innovative clubs. Will be minimum table stakes and the best part is clubs (if done right) can build content libraries that will be evergreen for a good period of time.

Hate to say it but I think the plan is to collect money now... issue credits later.

I'm guessing there are likely many families already knowing they can't continue in Fall and will delete their cc info from team profile/acct, if that's possible.
    Would they go after families?
I wanna say April is last payment...
As you said, not specific to SFC...happening all over.

I would think we'll be getting a communication as things have changed drastically in the past 2 days.

If someone can explain how deaths are shooting up after 15 plus days of restrictions please enlighten me...
Thought I read people continue to shed virus for weeks after recovery...

because it’s trailing. People were warning this was going to be this way months ago. You can go two weeks until symptoms show up. If you have it and don’t know it think how many you can infect in 14 days. Why it’s going exponential.

We have not seen the severity yet. It's coming. Big underlying issues reside in people not listening (St Patty celebrations, Spring Breakers, large gatherings at lakefront etc). Like Ryan said, up to a 14 day incubation period with ability to pass onto many others while not showing symptoms which has a domino effect. IMHO I don't think we will see our quarantine effects for about another week to two.

I remember one Sockers coach ripping Cadence on facebook for their u8 teams training 6 days a week. Just jolted my memory because I jumped on that coaches side and agreed with them on the nearly zero recovery time and the fact this was done to win the 3rd division in NISL... I actually think Rudy called that last part out on here.

Spring is done - no doubt. My club is trying to squeeze rec in between May and June but honestly I don't think we are in the clear for any lifts of gatherings until August. In fact I am going into te office in a few minutes (Chicago) to get my 2 screens, docking station and keyboard because I know this is not going away anytime soon.

Someone mentioned - I think Ryan, about try outs. That will be interesting.

I get that all these video training and live feeds are trying to make the best of a bad situation, but I hope they don’t become an integral part of development once things it going again…Kids play sports to “run around” outside, or least get out of the house. I would hate for these “training videos” to become just another bullshit FOMO standard and sales pitch… Once back to normal, these video will be too much like homework; most kids will learn to hate them (imo)...sucking the fun out a sport that already struggles with such issues…

I appreciate the clubs that are doing this (including my son's primary club), and like to think that long term it opens up a new avenue that a lot of younger kids' parents might not otherwise think about (look on Youtube and the sea of drills and exercises out there ...).

But yeah, for a lot of kids, it's pretty quickly already like homework. And I'd guess that the breakdown of kids who like and use these over the long haul versus those who don't won't be too different than the existing gap between those who work on their own a lot in a very focused way and those who either work on their own more for fun (my son -- loves to juggle, shoot, ..., but drills are another matter) or don't work on their own at all.

It’s a fair point and I can’t stand the circus animal routines I see on Instagram daily with kids. Cryuff has a great quote about being able to juggle 1,000 times and joining the circus. So I get it.

what I’m speaking to is the following:

    1. curated fundamental/foundational drills that are critical to advance in the game and frankly enjoy it. To cut through the mass of BS on the internet...most of which are designed to sell you something.

    2. To send videos of key concepts in action. Be it video clips of champions league teams playing out of the back properly to HS aged kids or animated video showing simple things like an x moving into space when y has the ball. Seeing this stuff from a different perspective is super helpful.

    3. Like anything there would be clubs that do this well and clubs that will do it Poorly. Just as they do now with their conventional coaching.

hilarious and so true. It’s sooo coming. Between that and chair rental services (and parking passes) at tournaments they’ll have a huge new revenue stream on their hands.

At the end of the day FCU is likely not losing players as a result of being "all in" for making a profit. I mean there are plenty of clubs that are that are just as guilty with constant allocations. Sockers has many and they also charge for technical training, 3v3 and futsal. They may not charge for keeper training but there is a slew of kits that are required. The last year we were there they had a "travel" shirt for the car which was sky blue and a "hotel" long sleeve shirt which was red that BC stated - had to be bought. My kids team had to a totally new kit for their trip to Colorado for the NPL Nationals . That's more of a load of crap then charging for premier parking IMO - at least people have a choice with that. Lets also remember that Sockers is likely the most expensive club (all in) on the block. About $3100.00 for a u13 and up with a kit. Add in allocations and additional BS jerseys and you are probably closer to $3500.00.

Campton charges allocations as well but they are 1/4 the cost of what Sockers charged. CSA charges no allocation - but that's beacuse they don't have a clue what they are doing. Maybe if they did, teams would not be training around oak trees in the middle of Good Templar park.

Naperville Eagles is partnering with Inter. Sounds like the same deal TC had with Eclipse. Best players will have a chance to play with inter

Which clubs have furloughed coaches? Galaxy seems very quiet.

Naperville eagles is a club that will fight for Survival in the fall so probably smart move to potentially consolidate long term. Or I might be wrong considering it’s Naperville

I expect a survival of the fittest landscape

Yeah - I don't know if the Cadence poster was a coach or what but he ripped me and the Sockers a new one on their page.

Typical coach abuse/taking advantage of parents who don't have a clue.

Oh btw - why would it not be true?

Can’t believe everything you read right. Not saying I doubt it, I simply have no idea if it’s true or not so giving that qualifier behind my comment.

Wonder how many clubs are going to be successful in filing for the government SBA loan. Obviously this is complicated when most coaches are 1099 independent contractors...

Just saw a post that laid off coach’s can get one.

Naperville Eagles- nice little club. I like the owner a lot. He started out with Challengers the former Naperville club Challengers filled the spot between club and rec; parent coaches with licensed training. It got run into the ground when one of its licensed trainers took most of the teams and EVOLVED then into a travel club.
