Look what I just found in storage during my spring (quarantine) cleaning:This @SpongeBob trophy that @SJEarthquakes’ fans made for me after I led the club and ALL of @MLS in yellow cards one season. It’s my most prized individual award. pic.twitter.com/32Dd6X2UUy— Jimmy Conrad (@JimmyConrad) March 30, 2020
I remember when he was awarded this. By Club Quake at Sporting Club in Santa Clara following the 2002 season, as I recall.
We only have 8 confirmed cases of the plague here in our county and ZERO deaths. I'd say that's good news.
Lenhart heading the ball out of the goal keepers hands, has to be one of the funniest things I've seen on a soccer field. Who thinks like that?
Steven Beitashour was on the monday episode of ExtraTime this week! I had thought he was playing in Iran and was already dead. But no, he didn't go because just before his contract was finalized, Trump assassinated an Iranian official. So the club said there was no way an American could come play in Iran. Instead, Beita has been at home, a free agent hoping that someone will sign him. The guy has won a lot of trophies with his 3 clubs, it's kind of phenomenal. I wonder if he has a bad agent or represents himself, because he seems to have failed to negotiate well with 3 different clubs. Such a shame. He shared a bunch of good stories in this podcast episode. Y'all should listen to it.
Only 30 people reported dead of coronavirus for the entire month of March in Santa Clara County, less than one per day on average. Other Bay Area counties fared even better. San Mateo County (10 deaths), Alameda (7), San Francisco (6). This is very good news which I have not seen reported on this board.
Can't remember if someone posted this yesterday or not... there are some good signs. I hope it continues. https://www.politico.com/states/cal...rve-after-2-weeks-of-social-isolation-1269663
Nice read over at The Athletic about Krazy George; written by Daniel Brown. If you have access check it out
From the article, re keeping occupied in the age of coronavirus: . . . “I’m watching one or two of … what are those stupid things called? … HALLMARK MOVIES!” he fairly shouted into the phone line Monday in that squeaky-gravelly voice. Whoa. Didn’t see that answer coming. “Me, neither!” he continued, his voice rising again. “I mean, they all have the same plot! The same actors! They’re terrible! All you have to do is wait for the last 10 minutes. That’s where they finally kiss and you know they’re going to get together!” The movies are so irresistibly lousy that Krazy George often persuades his wife, Patti Timberg, to come watch them, too. Krazy George and Sane Patti like to sit on the couch and roll their eyes together. The couple has taken to wagering on whether the movie will include one kiss or two . . .
OMG really? I don't recall ever getting on TV well enough to be spotted -- that's at Buck Shaw, where we had field seats?
