Based on the modelling data from Imperial the current outbreak will last till August, then we'll get a second peak in Winter. Not only will this season not be completed, its highly unlikely next season will either.
Whilst there are some outlooks predicting that, I'm hoping a second wave won't be anywhere near as catastrophic as this one as A) We may have a vaccine by then B) Even if we don't, you'd hope we will all have learned from this outbreak how damaging this virus is and thus we'll hopefully be much better prepared in terms of both healthcare and policies to combat it
Are these rumours about Grealish true? Absolutely shocking if so, could throw a serious wrench in his England career.
You can't help some people and he is one of them, because he is giving Southgate yet another excuse not to pick him
He has now confirmed it and apologised, but it's meaningless given it is basically compulsory to apologise for any indiscretion if you're a modern day footballer, given how much they are in the public eye. The more resounding punishment and lesson will start now you'd think given United and other big clubs may steer clear. I certainly don't think Southgate will brush this under the carpet given he has a zero tolerance policy towards misdemeanours, and quite rightly so.
In America there's decent hope the major sports leagues will restart in June. Social distancing is working.
Nonsense. Those yank sports only concern is their money. Forget anything resembling sports, especially in a stadiums for a long time. Forget EC2021. Not going to happen as this involves huge quantities of people going around in Europe. If we by some miracle have a vaccin by spring 2021 it's too late for preparations to be able to play the matches. Soccer players have been idle for months on end. It's pretty insane to think we're going to see soccer players ready for that tournement without any competition fitness at all.
This was in line to my thinking also, if we don’t play a International match again until next year then I’m not sure Southgate could use this as an excuse not to pick him. If it was next month sure but in a years time then I don’t think so.
Didn't Mount break isolation as well? And that was when one of his teammates had been confirmed to have the virus.
Interesting interview with Capello https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...2010-david-james-lampard-ghost-goal-interview
Both stupid, but Mount is a fair bit younger. If Grealish derails his England career before it's even started by pratting about like this, it'll be sad for everyone involved.
I personally don't see it happening until maybe late August. The NBA has talked a lot about playing in front of empty crowds, but I doubt that happens this season. As for the Euro's in 2021 I think it'll happen. A lot will change in 14 months. We'll know much more information and I'm confident there will be a vaccine around that time.
Italy has gone 19 days of lower new daily cases. Spain and Germany now at 13 and 12 daily decreases since peaks.
We are in this for a while yet. Italy and Spain are on the right track but they are still nowhere near being at a low enough death and case rate for the lockdowns to be lifted. I reckon they are both in this for another month. I also read that China's cases started to decrease around the 20th February but it wasn't until late March that their lockdowns started to be lifted. In short it takes around a month from lockdown until the cases start to consistently decrease, and then around a month until it is down to a level at which the lockdown can be lifted. Given we are two weeks behind those two, I reckon we're looking at the end of may earliest.
