The U.S. with crazy good death figures today. 264, as opposed to 515 the day before, 400 before that, 268 before that. New York down from 227 to 82, the rest of the country down from 278 to 182. I cannot explain, both new cases and serious/critical cases rose.
Our new cases was actually down 2500 on the day before, so I suspect lockdown is kicking in Death toll was +30 on the day before, but as we know, those deaths were in the mail and are a reflection of 52K active cases
In Maryland, crap meat is a national priority and it is foreign nationals who pick the crabs so I guess I get it.
I eat pretty well but Costco had white chocolate and lemon cream covered almonds and I couldn't resist.
My cousin had what he thought was a mini-stroke today and ended up at Franklin, in Valley Stream, NY. While he was waiting for the diagnosis and prognosis, he hit me up. Told me that the place was FULL of covid patients on ventilators. The elderly woman on the other side of the curtain from him was diagnosed with it while he waited. He said all he could think about was getting the medication and running the ******** out of there and getting home, as the hospital was freaking ground zero. And he did just that. Turns out he just had a bout of bell's palsy. But imagine that - thinking you have had a stroke but scared so shitless of all the people on vents that you are trying to run out the door ASAP.
Meh. Honestly, the day to day death count, up and down, means so little. Its simply just a function of time. A brief snapshot. It's about the longer trends. The weeks, the months.
The second video of the three you posted wasn't at a Walmart. It was at a supermarket in Sydney (Woolworths) that happened a couple of weeks ago.
Let's hope it's not a fluke, and that our change of habits is starting to make a difference. But obviously it's premature to think so.
And we also need to accept that we’re only seeing a fraction of Covid cases and even Covid deaths. When hospitals fill, people don’t get beds or diagnosed. When they get bad quickly, they die at home. Some will be tested and categorized after the fact. Some won’t. We’ll know the true count when we look at death rate differentials, same period this year vs same period the last few years. With some adjustments (removing trauma deaths, age adjusting, etc).
This is the current (well a day old I guess) info on infection rates and sources in the state of New SOuth Wales, Australia. Despite our closer location to Asia most of the overseas contracted cases came from people returning from the USA. We were quick to put restrictions on people returning from China and Iran but probably not quick enough to place those restriction on people returning from Italy and USA. Hopefully the trend of the last couple of days continues.
This statement of mine is a bit out of date. below is a pie chart of where our overseas cases came from.
I added shrimp to my pasta primavera today. Apparently, all the Cap'n Crunch in my town is being hoarded by unAmerican dog dick sleazebags with ugly-ass mamas who should be staked out near an ant hill. I'm going after them. If at some point I don't post for a week, y'all come down here and raze the mofo
Has anyone heard of any real evidence that chloroquine is helping people afflicted with COVID-19? Despite the orange narcissist's ravings, I haven't heard anything that's definitely positive. It's apparently being tested in trials, but the trials haven't been promising. Nevertheless, after the orange narcissist spewed out a bunch of crap about how great it was, people have been demanding it, and now apparently health insurers are cutting off lupus patients who have been taking it for years because it does help them. Kaiser Permanente, for example, is sending messages to their . . .what? customers? subscribers? not sure what the term is . . .that tell them not to ask their doctors for new prescriptions or an exception, as they will not be filled no matter what, and "Thank you for the sacrifice you will be making for the critically ill."
RIP.... Michigan State Rep. Isaac Robinson (D) died Sunday morning from a suspected coronavirus infection, hours after being transported to the hospital for breathing problems, Crain’s Detroit Business reports.
I dunno if I posted it already here: Dutch lung doctors are desperate as suggested treatments like chloroquine donot work, but do cause by effects, some very nasty by effects. You posted this picture before and I didn't get it. Now I do. That man is a dead ringer for Thomas Dooley with very short hair. Like, close level.
I don't want to sound gruesome, but I've gotten in the habit of checking out the Reuters website, because it shows a map of the United States where you can click on a state and see what the county-by-county breakdown of coronavirus cases look like. My county confirmed its first positive case over the weekend. In last Thursday's local paper, the head of the county health department said 17 people had tested negative for COVID 19 with one test result pending. I guess it was that pending case that provided the positive confirmation. Illinois has 102 counties, and as of this morning, 49 of them have at least one confirmed case of coronavirus. The rural county to the north of me only had 1 confirmed case for the past 10 days. Today, the total is up to 6. I'm heading out to the grocery store later this morning. I try to shop during off-peak hours to avoid big crowds, but I'm headed to Aldi's, which is a popular choice among people where I live, and it doesn't open till 9. Stay safe and healthy, everyone. Can't wait till this is over so we can get back to talking about the sport this site was primarily developed to cover!
