Apparently a strategy paper from the internal affairs ministry leaked that predicts a plan where people with a lesser risk return to work but are "to be extensively and aggressively tested". Personally i can almost foresee a short term future where you might have to send in a selftest weekly or so. Testing capacities would have to be extended for that to happen, but the truth is things will have to become pretty creative pretty soon.

Coronavirus: Barcelona announce staff cuts for duration of Covid-19 crisis The Camp Nou board has announced the temporary restructuring of sporting and non-sporting personnel to minimise the economic impact of coronavirus. I'm curious to see what will happen in Madrid. The Atleti players agreed to wage cuts. I'm against people getting laid off, but an ERTE/Kurzarbeit as they call it in Germany is a sensible measure. I don't think Barcelona are being unreasonable here.
The issue with Facebook is that is perceives itself as both publisher with editorial rights and "open space" - essentially reimagined public sphere which is becoming increasingly virtual. You can`t be both obviously. Or at least you should not be. It is fascinating that people speak in positive tones in terms of Facebook, when they are de facto personification of deeply corrupt company which completely shits on Ethics.
http://www.today.it/attualita/coronavirus-guarisce-101-anni-rimini.htm 101 yr old man, born during Spanish flu pandemic survives Covid 19
Lyra, you know i love you, but still. This post is meaningless considering being a tiny sample. Now, the question is how many 101 yr old men would survive this thing in a large sample?
This isn't good news for us. If you remember I said this bailout isn't really about the citizens (although the Democrats did work to have them represented); it's about delivering huge sums for the corporations. I also stated if this thing isn't stemmed we risk throwing away 2 trillion and then needing to repeat this process in June or July.... We put the cart before the horse and mainly because as a nation we have been elitist and arrogant. Refusing to follow medical community guidlines amd allowing this infection to spread. Our leaders being morons, greedy and slow to move aiding this contagion. Now we significantly risk our economy because we provided a solution when we weren't even done hearing the total case of the problem. I don't even know how we get out of this mess and it is bad because everyone is riding the wave of support for this thing but I believe they're being a little shortsighted.
And the restrictions have been a mess. Some states do it, some don't. Within states some counties do it, others don't. Airports are still wide open and lots of flights happening. Even the counties that did lock down. Every job is essential Doctors Hospitals Banks Gas stations Construction Pool care Lawn care Hardware Mechanics Supermarkets Restaurants Etc. Right now our county is on lock down...
Death rate in UK fell from 89 to 43 yesterday. Italy's case rate and death rate have dropped and flattened since 21 March. Spanish death rate dropped for first time yesterday. For the media bad news is good news. No wonder this isn't being a headline right now.
Because it would suggest that everything is recovering and make people relax and be careless. Bavaria had a great weekend with numbers practically dropping by half, then as soon as the week starts record breaking numbers on every front. Watching daily numbers and coming to a conclusion is irrelevant. What's important is the trend, not the singular day. We need a positive trend with a curve dropping. Until that happens nothing has changed.
Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/9Te6aFP0Ri— Boris Johnson (@BorisJohnson) March 27, 2020
I imagine people can make distinction between trends and short term flactuations which are meaningless? But hey, if not. We have celebrities to guide us in such dark times. Honestly, i don`t know what i would do without their daily shipment of platitudes.
Unfortunatelly i don't think so. To be quite honest a lot of people behave like nothing has changed. Whenever i take one of the elevators at my apartment, there's always a person that wants to walk in, but we're talking about people standing next to each other in a space that is as big as a phone booth. I walked out when a lady just opened the door a floor under me and walked in and she looked at me like i'm crazy. I went to buy groceries yesterday and a lady was still saying "that's a scam, a media ploy, i don't know anybody that has it" to the people working there.
In my Town people are respecting current situation. Streets are empty as fck. People keeping distance in the store, and wait outside if there is to many people in the store already. We also wear mandatory disposable plastic gloves. Etc...
In general terms, the strict lockdown has been bearing fruit (in my region you basically need a reason to be outside or you're paying big bucks), but we'll have to wait for weeks to see if it worked or not. The biggest park in Munich was basically full of people right until the day when the lockdown was officially announced and it became practically illegal to be outside without a reason. Something i noticed is that it's mostly old people that don't seem to give a f***. Old lady pushing her cart right ahead of everybody and everything getting right up in people's faces and talking.
