I went grocery shopping today, and the situation seems to drastically improve. It appears that hoarders are basically sitting on their supplies now.
I watched some Youtube clips. Some American lunatic bought entire meat stock. Fck such people seriously.
Yeah i think in western europe, where the virus has already established itself into our every day life for weeks now, we're kind of past the initial hoarding phase, but the US is just getting into it, and considering how "bigger and better" and "more is more" are the motto, i think the initial run for groceries is going to be brutal. You're only allowed to buy one toilet paper package and one kitchen roll package here. You carry more and it's taken away at the cash register. I think that's pretty cool.
Throw rednecks with guns into the mix. It should be fun. Stores should enforce quotas early on. You can buy for example weekly or two weekly supply of food, instead of certain individuals emptying the store, while in next moment mother with a child can`t buy a piece of meat, yeast to make some bread, let alone buy some diapers which are a hit in crisis as much as toilet paper.
Oktoberfest looking very likely to be canceled, a decision has to be made by the end of May, but it's looking incredibly unlikely. The only times the Oktoberfest was canceled since 1809: 1813 Bavaria fighting off Napoleon 1854 Cholera 1923 Post WWI economic crisis 1946 to 1948 WWII
You love Trump and have always supported and defended his actions. Seems you're the one with a mind impacted because you're apparently losing your memory? Lol like clockwork. A Stimulus package which provides too little help to the states and primarily hands out low interest rate bailouts to huge corporations. This wouldn't be such a strange idea if we actually quarantined as a country and flattened the curve od this pandemic. Instead we have new cycles beginning in other major cities while the biggest hit places still haven't reached their apex.... This is recipe for disaster.. because if the sickness continues that have cycles people still won't be able to work at full capacity, the economy will still end up tanking and we're going to need another massive bailout.
Balkan has been subjected to reengineering from the West for decades, which has had substantial negative impact on the region. Does this answer how i view actions of Trump`s administration in regards to Serbia and Kosovo. Should tell you everything about how accurate your first post is. Secondly. I don`t care about partisan side. I will support policies / actions which i deem worthy regardless of political affiliation, unlike 90% of individuals in the West today with their deep partisan echo-chambers. Now, you can say i am full of shit while actually being Maga Hat Zealot. I am fine by that. Just, dont bother me with it.
Lol sure. Miss us all with the bullshit explanations. We can just go by your obvious posting history.
"Now, you can say i am full of shit while actually being Maga Hat Zealot. I am fine by that. Just, dont bother me with it."
That is very true, but usually the US and the West support... the countries that support the West. Serbia has historically been against the West and pro Russia. Suddenly after Trump came back he starts supporting the only pro-Russian country in the Balkans? Maybe it's because we have a statue of Bill Clinton here .
Plenty of reports seem to suggest that there will be no football in Germany for the rest of the 2020. German's minister of health said today that the current situation is "the calm before the storm".
Yeah, that's what I've been thinking too. What's the exit plan? Anyway, I guess we have a lot of time to think about it. Its not happening on Easter weekend. Also, maybe the reason why you are more concerned about the economy than Covid-19 is because Canada shut things down before the rates of infected were high, not after (like the U.S.).
There is a lot of speculation in Germany about a "soft" lockdown with higher risk grounds having to remain in lockdown and groups with less of a risk getting a wider range of activities. Still, countries are currently reacting. There is no plan to move forward right now.
Not surprising. For example my Serb uncle absolutely hates Clintons and has deeply well... critical view of United States whom he blames for everything. As for Kosovo, not surprising you have statue of Clinton there. But it seems script has shifted now, and its time to produce a little more instability instead of "forcing" Serbia to acknowledge Kosovo, so we can move on.
Real Madrid is playing some games "Live" on Youtube and Twitch. Right now it's Valencia vs Real Madrid Copa semifinal. I don't know how Trump has been for US Citizens and in the end that's what matters to them, but i've never seen a US president support Serbia so much, a country that literally hates them and have even burned US embassy over there lol. The only thing i wanted was for the relations between the two countries to HEAL and start from 0. What Trump is doing is gonna result in a war sooner or later. But that's the problem here, in the alleged agreement it's said that Serbia will not recognize Kosovo, they will just stop their lobbying preventing Kosovo from joining international organizations such as Interpol, UNESCO etc. Anyway ******** politics, sorry for bringing it up guys i'm just pissed off.
This is equivalent to me saying: "I have never wanted Pogba or supported Cristiano; if you accuse me of that? Fine.. but stop bothering me about it!!"
And I could be wrong but seems like the stimulus money is just being dished-out to everyone randomly, rather than targeting those people that lost their jobs or saw a cut in their pay. Like many others, my salary hasn't been impacted and my expenses have decreased (not going out for lunch, dinner or drinks, not paying for public transport, don't have to pay the dog walker, etc.). I guess I will accept the $2,400 but seems a bit wasteful by the Gov't.
It will take years for many of these industries to recover because even if a movie theater is open tomorrow, i'm not going to give them my business right now.
Stimulus money will take a few weeks if not months to reach the pockets of those who need it. In 2008 it took 3-4 months after the bill was signed!!!
Brazil is facing a huge dilemma. We can't really afford a lockdown for too long. We are poor and desperately need our economy to resume asap. Our president does not know how to deliver this message in a nice way and instead prefers to pick a fight with everyone. But unfortunately, he is right. The aftermath here is going to be uglier than any virus. 40 million people unemployed expected. I think we can take another week or maybe 10 days to flatten the curve the most we can. After that? Lockdown will destroy us for decades. I fear the virus as my parents are 60+ years old. But I fear the misery we are all be subjected to. Too bad this became yet another political war. Good sense can't prevail in such a scenario.
It's not even about the message, it's about a 65 year old man saying things like this: “I wouldn't feel anything or, if very affected, it would be like a little flu or little cold.” It's like saying you'd survive getting shot at. It's possible for sure, but ideally you'd want to avoid getting shot at in the first place, since nobody is superhuman.
