Stats against the Knicks don't count because they're not a professional basketball team.

I started taking vitamin D because I live in Michigan. It helps.

ANd I've been cooking for myself for a long time. But it was staggering to see frozen pizza empty and for some reason, frozen Atlantic salmon not being available.

I've been doing that every morning since Feb. 26. Helps with the crushing weight of anxiety.

It also made me realize that my body temp goes up the morning after drinking, which I didn't know was a thing.

"Coronaviruses are a family of so-called “enveloped viruses”. This means they are coated in an oily coat, known as a lipid bilayer, studded with proteins that stick out like spikes of a crown, helping to give them their name – corona is Latin for crown.
Research on other enveloped viruses suggests that this oily coat makes the viruses more susceptible to heat than those that do not have one. In colder conditions, the oily coat hardens into a rubber-like state, much like fat from cooked meat will harden as it cools, to protect the virus for longer when it is outside the body. Most enveloped viruses tend to show strong seasonality as a result of this.

Research has already shown that Sars-Cov-2 can survive for up to 72 hours on hard surfaces like plastic and stainless steel at temperatures of between 21-23C (70-73F) and in relative humidity of 40%. Exactly how the Covid-19 virus behaves at other temperatures and humidity has still to be tested, but research on other coronaviruses suggests they can survive for more than 28 days at 4C. (Read more about how long Covid-19 can survive on surfaces.)

A closely related coronavirus that caused the Sars outbreak in 2003 has also been found to survive best in cooler, drier conditions. For example, dried Sars virus on smooth surfaces remained infectious for over five days at between 22-25C and with a relative humidity of 40–50%. The higher the temperature and humidity, the shorter the virus survived."

    Yeah, good post.

The problem is that helping out people who are poor goes against the grain for many people and they will try and do anything before they do that.

I realised the full extent of that when I heard an American politician talking of 'non-people' claiming government money which, presumably, meant undocumented migrants.

The thing is, they can still get ill and give it to people like him. I mean, it's not complicated, is it.

Hmmm, maybe I will retry. I used to go once weekly but when I went on the weekend when things blew up, that is after the NBA cancelled its season and Trump banned U.S. Europe flights (or restricted them, whatever), my ethnic grocery store had a Costco type line, just to get into the place. So I went to Da Jewels instead and have been going there ever since. The selection and prices are worse at Jewel, but its shelves are well stocked and it is not crowded.

so the problem is that the present Admin calls the current coronavirus the 'Chinese' virus?

but no one had or still has any issue with calling it the Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS)?

Surely you understand the difference. MERS was the established virus name (and an acronym). Chinese Virus is a branding effort by Trump, in effort to overturn the established virus name.

Ralph Drollinger is such a non-patriot that he refused to play in the 1976 Olympics for fear he might get injured. As a result, Tom Lagarde was the 4th Tar Hell to win a gold medal and avenge 1972.

    That’s what I thought.
My doctor told me I need to go onto some vit.D. I said I spend a lot of time per day outside and catch a lot of sun. Her reply was at a certain age? The body doesn’t process it enough, so take the supplement.
So, I take a couple of 50mg D3 tabs a day and it makes a difference.

No, I think he gets it. And he's certainly right that we don't cut Trump any slack at all. But that is not where I would choose to defend the guy.

First, a lot of those clips were from the early days when many people knew nothing about it, so calling it the "Wuhan corona virus" put some context to the news stories. I would still argue that that was unnecessary, and led to discrimination, not only against Chinese nationals, but against all Asians in the US, even if they were fourth generation Americans.

Nonetheless, I loooooooove this type of argument from Trump supporters. Everyone else does it. As if the President of the United States should be held to no higher standard than a pundit or news anchor. With Trump, however, it is far worse. It is an actual attempt to demonize China and Chinese people. Dude had called it the corona virus from the beginning and about a week ago, he started using his infamous sharpie to deliberately change his script. To remind himself to be racist. It is telling (and probably pisses him off to no end) that he will stand there calling it the "Chinese virus" and then Pence refuses to do that.

The media suck. They have for a while. So, you are able to cobble together a clip of them carelessly using the phrase. Good for you. However, we have photographic evidence that President Trump is deliberately trying to re-brand the disease for his own racist, xenophobic purposes. You are smart enough to see the difference between those two things.
