Not sure if it was posted here but Besiktas parted ways with their coach 2 weeks ago: https://www.dailysabah.com/football...ks-coach-abdullah-avci-after-less-than-a-year Here is an article on Boyd and their new coach: https://gazetefutbol.de/boyd-ueber-...-mir-freiheiten-meine-faehigkeiten-zu-zeigen/ And a recent interview: Beşiktaş’ın ABD'li futbolcusu Tyler Boyd, “Olanlardan dolayı oldukça üzgünüm. Şehit olan askerlerin ailelerine, bu durumdan etkilenen bütün insanların ailelerine destek mesajlarımı, dualarımı gönderiyorum” dedi. pic.twitter.com/aWUXr0asMR— DHA Spor (@dhaspor) March 2, 2020
From after their match yesterday, derby vs Galatasaray next week Yalçın, on the question about the players' positions in the match, said: "Our players are free in certain patterns. We are very pleased with Boyd, an athletic player. The lens is a player who can play at the back and front. He has been playing for 3-4 weeks, gaining physical strength" https://www.trtspor.com.tr/haber/fu...aray-maci-kaderimizi-belirleyecek-204754.html
We need to advocate for the use of the term "Almost Assists" instead of the much more lackluster "Chances Created."
Tyler Boyd is starting against Galatasaray in 20 minutes. (Apparently, there is still some soccer being played somewhere in Europe right now.)
Why do Galatasarays players keep clutching their faces when they are not being touched anywhere near their faces. This is freaking annoying. And Boyd has been anonymous.
Not the most exciting game, so I didn't pay attention for the entire half, but I agree that Boyd was anonymous for the large portions I observed. Also, slightly unrelated, but I feel like every time I tune into a Turkish League game, I consistently have an "Oh that's where that player ended up" reaction to multiple players. Today it was Kevin-Prince Boateng and Radamel Falcao.
It is hard for a game to seem exciting when there is no noise at the arena. Perception is reality. The perception would be much different with a packed stadium going nuts (which would definitely be the case for this fixture).
Again I feel compelled to write that Boyd is completely anonymous. Is this just a poor game for him (as it has been for a number of Besiktas players) or has this been his form?
At least he’s back in the 11. He started the season, lost his spot and he’s now back in a run of games. Their playing the team that traditionally dominates the league too.
The best thing about Turkish Super Lig games is the fans. So, without fans, watching is a chore. Gala is not the same of old: this season they're probably qualifying to the Europa. Boyd is at best a lower-half of the table Championship player, so he's anonymous there.
Interview: https://www.si.com/soccer/2020/03/2...r_si&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=si-soccer The two teams walked out, warmed up and then played 90 scoreless minutes in front of 52,000 empty seats. It was awkward. It even felt like a distraction at times, Boyd said. In that moment, it was the silence that was deafening. “It was such a strange feeling. The contrast is crazy because the Turkish fans are the craziest fans in the world, so going from 1,000 to zero, from the noisiest crowds to nothing, was just crazy,” Boyd said.

Actually, when the league restarts the could just send him onto the pitch. If he infects the opposition players, he'll have more impact than he's had all season!
