Expected. Given that both Arsenal and Real Madrid are in quarantine, and Hannover 96 has two plaers who have it, I expect all European leagues to do the same.
Thanks for the additional information /s -- short term, coronavirus, what? This post is worse than a Tweet. Edit -- Also Tyson Wahl is an idiot.
MLS is suspending its season immediately until further notice due to coronavirus, a source with knowledge of the situation tells Sports Illustrated.— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) March 12, 2020 Official statement is apparently forthcoming.

I guess lets just be thankful this didn't happen between 2000-2003 when the league was barely hanging on. I don't know. Take care of yourselves good people.
Complete guesswork on my part, since we don't know where this thing is going, but for now, my guess is that we'll take 4-6 weeks off.
Apparently Jorge Mas said that they're hoping it'll only be for 30 days or so (though obviously the situation is fluid). https://www.ajc.com/sports/reports-that-mls-suspending-season-because-covid/kDv99LfPT9GSgwmRWFA2sJ/
MLS now confirms: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020...er-suspends-season-30-days-impact-coronavirus Eurosnobs rejoice, MLS is now officially following the Serie A and La Liga schedule!

I think this is wise. Had to happen. Try to keep this thing in the thousands rather than 10%, 25%, 33%, or 50% of total pop. Which is where we were headed if we did not shut stuff down.
My rosy spin: Milton and Vito get healthy and we don't have to freeze our asses off at all those early season home matches. Of course, there's no reason to believe this will be limited to only a 30 day event.
We all could use a good laugh...Our good old rock-headed pals from down south always seem to come through somehow when we need them the most. Yet another reason - obviously the biggest - why it turned out so wise for #AustinFC to wait til 2021 to launch #MLS rather than hurry something on the field this year. @AustinAnthem ... https://t.co/HunGfAMuFt— Kevin Lyttle (@klyttlesports) March 12, 2020
USL too.... https://www.uslchampionship.com/news_article/show/1094891 And the Big 10 just cancelled its basketball tournament. March Madness cannot be far behind.
Once players started testing positive, I think the only appropriate response is to shut it down. Even playing behind closed doors presents too much of a risk to players transmitting it to each other. And when you think of all the staff that players come in contact with during games and practices, there's a lot of susceptibility in that regard. To anyone who says, "well players aren't 'high risk' and won't get really sick," I would say at this point it's about limiting "vectors" for the virus to be spread to susceptible populations. I may get it and it might not be so bad for me, but if I spread it to someone who then visits the nursing home, that could be serious bad news.
On a side note: it probably wasn't the best day for someone from the Crew to call to talk to me about season tickets. I got the message in the morning, and by the time I got a chance to call back, the news about the season being suspended came out. He immediately informed me of the suspension of play. I had planned on looking into a ticket package of some sort after seeing if I get a promised raise in April, but now things are all up in the air. I had a nice, brief conversation with the ticket rep., and he said he'd follow up when the situation changes. I feel bad for those ticket reps right now. It's tough to do your job if you have no idea when the next game is going to be.
What a contemptible piece of shit "Wise" ? The reason they arent playing is because they couldnt find a stadium to use. Wisdom about looming global pandemics had nothing to do with it. It's like a jackass rodeo down there and he's the clown.
Really becomes a domino effect right? That is how I felt when I woke up on Tuesday morning to the news about OSU.
