Now that it's just about complete ... I feel we're a little thin outside of the DEF. FWDs ... I know we've been doing a heavy midfield in the pre-season but I honestly think this forward group would work well off of each other, so having only one on the pitch at a time seems wasteful given the talent they've got. MIDs ... there is a clear top 4 IMO. If we play 5 we get thin pretty quickly. DEFs ... biggest issue the last couple of years and addressed nicely it would appear. I just hope it wasn't at the expense of being able to score. Some tough decisions for starting spots (a good thing) and should be the strength of our team. GKs ... we know Cardone is beyond good enough and a top 5 USL keeper IMO. St Clair is a fantastic addition for the year and he should push the Beard for the starting spot. There's been some high quality additions to other clubs this year but honestly ... there's no way we shouldn't AT MINIMUM be in the play-in round of the playoffs. We SHOULD be pushing into the 4-5-6 slot in the table IMO though.
Solid opening win against the defending champs. Controlled better portion of the game and probably should have had 2-0 and could have perhaps had a 3-0 score line. Not complaining at all. Great play considering we had 7 (I believe) folks unavailable with AT LEAST 2 of them being starters. VAMOS BOYS! VAMOS SA!
