YouTubeTV freezes on me too. I’ve only used Hulu to watch last nights game so far so I don’t have much to compare to.
99% of the time it's down to the user's internet, router, or traffic of neighbors. ESPN+ kept crapping out on me a lot recently, so was OG YouTube. Restart router, re-scanned Roku stick, problem solved. Apps didn't change. Just sayin'.
Did they fly Neil and Jordan to the game? Or were they in the local studio like previous seasons? Also, Hulu is trash. I missed the last several minutes of regular time and most of stoppage because the app kept freezing on me. I had to restart it and got it back just in time for the last 20 seconds or so before the whistle. There is no way I'll be able to convince my wife to leave YTTV and migrate to that shit stain platform.
Never had that happen to me. I also use the Fox Sports Go / Fox Sports apps when watching STO / FS1 / FS2. Just like I use ESPN+ when watching anything ESPN related. Works just fine. Like I said in other thread, 99% of the time the problem is on the user's end.
It worked fine for Crew game but on the Buckeye gm when i switched YTTV had no issues. You get a occasional short glitch on YTTV but on Hulu live it was really bad for like 15 seconds multiple times it was unwatchable. I’ve had Hulu and never experienced that with movies.
I've been trying out Hulu all weekend and will probably stick with it. Still not crazy about the UI but it's whatever. I've never had a problem with YTTV or yet with Hulu in terms of skipping or freezing. I stream everything through an Apple TV that is wired directly to our router instead of through Wifi, which helps. ESPN+ can skip but that app has always been trash.
Had a similarly awful experience. Cancelling that trash and going with my Mother's Spectrum login for FoxSportsGo access from here on.
They were in studio. Hiltbrand did travel but as far as I can remember he was only used to interview Gyasi right after the whistle.
I believe she did radio analysis for the Rapids for four seasons, so she does have experience calling action in real time. I wonder, though, if it's weird doing these games from a studio, watching the game on monitors. That, plus not really knowing the team very well that she's supposed to be analyzing, might take a while to adjust to. Anyway, I thought she was fine, and will probably get better. I'd had all I could take of Neil and Dwight.
Same here. Been using it all weekend and haven't come across anything. It has some differences from YTTV that I actually enjoy.. For starters, you can choose to record only new episodes of a show and not the reruns. Quality seems fine with the right internet.. Other than that, whew... Not being able to eliminate channels or reorder the guide is not user friendly. It's at least alphabetical order but I don't need to be seeing TBS West on my guide.
Since it is MLS setting the blackout policy - it'll probably get fixed around the time they implement pro/rel, which is also about the time Tony Precourt is inducted into the Crew Circle of Honor. I'll admit I honestly didn't know the FCC has nothing to do with blackouts anymore.
I thought Jordan did just fine. She had good insight and called it as she saw it. She even made fun of a Neil joke one time. The leather pants helped set the mood and the rest of the game was like listening to my wife’s hot friend. Interestingly enough, Dwight happened to call the #3 UD Flyers game on Spectrum sports Saturday night. It was nice to see the Flyers win and listen to Dwight again.
You are lucky there is a guide now. Hulu just added it a couple months ago. I've never had any problems with Hulu Live for the 1.5 years I've had it until yesterday and today. It started during the Buckeyes bball game yesterday where the picture and sound would stutter and then completely freeze. I have to back out of the channel and then it works.... until it freezes again. It doesn't seem to be doing it on all channels but it is highly annoying.
I'll be the first to admit that I used to have a very dim view of female sportscasters. Most of them got jobs mainly because of whats ( not) between thrir legs instead of whats between their ears. ESPN was the worst. Most of those women were and are unlistenable. Then Doris Burke came along, and she is simply the best basketball broadcaster alive. I could listen to her all day. Then, here comes Sarah Kustoe on Fox, who has forgotten more about basketball than most of those guys will ever know. She's the real goddam deal. Both of them have gotten to the top not because of their hair or their smile and not by flirting with the players the way a couple of the ESPN bimbos always do. And if you see them doing an interview, its more than obvious that the players respect them for their knowledge. I really think Jordan is cut from the same cloth. Those other women are much older and have years of experience, but the basis is there: not " how did you feel" but "what was the thought process?". She could really end up being the best, male or female. Then again, when the competition is JP Dellacamera, thats not a high bar. Give her a couple years to get her broadcast chops and I bet she'll be something special.
This reminds me of the most recent home Crew game where the Bench AR was female. I've seen her before--she's pretty solid and holds a good line. About the only issue I had was that she got caught upfield a couple times on the break--but that happens to male AR's too. Like Bill and sportscasters, my opinion has changed there too (refereeing) from seeing a very competent official come along and doing a solid job. While we rightly do have gender separate competitions, for may good reasons, that does not need to and should not apply to officiating (and coaching for that matter). I learned a good lesson here.
One of the most important goals in Crew history (Gaven's winner in the 08 ECF) was botched by an inane sideline report and JPD's call (oh he tiesssss itputsthem up!).
