Not nearly enough talk about Santos’ brutal performance once again. If not for Afful, all the talk would be about Santos being the worst guy on the field tonight.
He did okay, but he was caught out of position a few times and just doesn’t have the speed to fill the same role Valenzuela is asked to play
I'm wondering if there is a communication issue. Keita doesn't seem to be a talker and I thought Cadden worked much better with Mokhtar. Certainly an upgrade over Maloney.
My thoughts exactly horrible color choices for spectators it was leather i was hoping it they were stretch pants ( was looking hard for camel toe) i was hoping she would get a side view for us but she had that shirt uncovered to cover her assets lol 97.1 has multiple channels but if you have a older radio you can’t toggle the options trash no , unnecessary Sí I wanted a review to that PK on Afful does it matter that it hit his leg first ? Maybe by rule they have to call that but either way why doesn’t Afful have his hands behind his back ? Poor technique on his part
Come to think of it that is the first time I have seen a PK retaken for that rule. Of course it would go against the crew.
We’ve worn yellow vs Seattle’s rave green before. Believe it or not, in one of the Seattle vs Portland matches last year, both wore green. Rave vs forest. WTF?
Artur is young but i still think we need a quality player at CDM who can replace Artur or Nagbe when needed we have the intl spot and money needed . i don’t want to see Berhalter or Morris in a meaningful game they do need experience but even then one injury could derail us so give me 3 quality players. It’s the only position that needs immediate attention
West coast points are sweet. Here is your West Ham Sandwich Good/Bad/Ugly Presented by BigStern for Match 2 for your still undefeated Yellow Soccer Team: Good: The whole sequence leading to the goal was masterful. The attack looks real dangerous when it goes towards the goal and presses the play. Diaz with the beautiful cross letting Gyasi do what he does best and just smash it in. Mensah was the best defender on the field. Nagbe just doesn’t turn the ball over or get dispossessed. I love watching him and LZ play when pressured. LZ’s run opened up Gyasi for his easy finish. Bad: Please be ok Milton. Keita looked like the unpolished player that led them to bring in Vito. I’d still rather see him than Josh but will be hoping Vito returns next week and Keita can go back to learning from the twin towers of Vito/Mensah. Cadden was shaky, his defensive positioning was not looking great. The bend but don’t break defending worked well enough keeping the draw but luck had a big part in that. Morris bungled most of the chances created for him. I think the defending needs to be more cutthroat in these situations to close the matches out but I’ll take it since it was 2/4 of our preferred Backline. Most of the attack was just a step slow, Santos being main culprit. Ugly: Etienne was very lazy leading to the handball penalty. Afful needs to keep the arm in. Table Finish based on Match 2 Performance: 4th. Ok I’ll move em up a spot for taking that point in Seattle. There was an opportunity for 3, and that’s with no Vito and only a half of Valenzuela. I like what that says about this teams chances.

1) You're a pig 2) I think you mean untucked, and that's a very current fashion for the ladies: you tuck in just the front, right around the belt buckle but the rest hangs out. Very chic. And it bothers my son that I always know shit like that. I just couldnt help smiling about her standing there with Neil who, until recently, appeared in ugly mismatched and dated thrift store rejecta and now hes working next to a girl who is dressed like shes out for the afternoon on Rodeo Drive I would strongly suspect that they're having g her professionally styled but then theres Neil who looks like the bargain rack at Sears
Well... Overall good performance. I thought we left a couple of plays on the field on the offensive end, but that's not all that unusual to have happen. And the only goal we gave up was on a somewhat unlucky penalty that had to be taken twice. I've got no problems with any of the calls people have mentioned. The play where Santos got grazed with an outstretched arm COULD have been called, but most of the time it isn't. The defender had position on him, the contact wasn't all that serious (and exaggerated), and I'm fine with that being let go. Afful's handball: Penalty 100% of the time. Sorry. They've made this clear enough: If the ball's headed into the penalty area or towards goal (or in this case, both) and your arm makes you bigger, and it hits your arm, it's a PK. Get over it. It's unfortunate, and it's a gift for Seattle, but it's the right call. As is the re-take because Room was off his line. It was clear. It wasn't even close. I don't LIKE that VAR is used for this case, but that's the standard now. It's been that way for a while, and we've seen it in every league in the world; we're just now seeing it in MLS because the new standards didn't take effect until this season began. I don't think making it easier for shooters to score on PKs is something we need to be doing, but you don't always get what you want. Finally, the idea that the corner kick should have been allowed after the FK at the end of the game... no. The foul occurred with time left on the clock, so time is extended and the free kick is allowed. But that kick took place well after time had expired, so it's the last kick. There's no issue there. I've seen that plenty of times before.
I kind of agree. Truthfully, the result was probably fair, because both teams have reason to be upset not to win and both teams probably have reason to be happy with a point.
2 goals in two games, including 87 minutes plated against 10 men. Utterly dominated in every aspect of the game vs Seattle. Yet come out of the first two games with 4 points vs two of the top teams in MLS last season, including the defending champs. It very well might be a mirage, but I'll take it.
