03 Musiala born in Germany to German mother and Nigerian father.

He grew up in East Hesse over the next few years, enthusiastically playing football for TSV Lehnerz.

    Nice memories of Lehnerz

“Our team was really good, we won a few tournaments. These are great memories, ”the youngster likes to look back. In October 2010, the then seven-year-old was able to draw attention to himself beyond the borders of Fulda for the first time. When his mother moved to Southampton, England for a semester abroad, the family came along.

    The Brexit played a role
"I'm really happy about the years in England," says the 17-year-old, who is still in his old home on a regular basis. On the one hand because his father, a Nigerian by birth, still lives there. On the other hand, the ex-Lehnerzer has been playing for the English national team for several years. "I have a lot of buddies in the team and I feel very comfortable there," emphasizes Musiala, who has also played for young German players.

He was even allowed to lead his teammates as captain in a friendly game, including against Germany.

"Proud", so proud, he was about this role. It's not the only time that the dual-citizenship youth footballer uses an English word. "My German is not yet perfect, but I understand the language," he says, in keeping with his rather reserved nature. However, there are no problems understanding it. This was one of the reasons why a return to the Federal Republic was obvious last summer. “We wanted to go back to Germany for personal reasons,” explains Musiala. Among other things, the "Brexit", Britain's exit from the European Union, played a role.

In the U-17 Bundesliga team, the young talent directly got the number 10, his trainer was none other than the most successful World Cup striker of all time, Miroslav Klose. “My fitness was not so good at the beginning, we also worked a lot on defensive behavior. Basically, you can take a lot with you from such a world-class striker, for example determination and serenity in front of the goal, ”said the offensive midfielder.

a player who started playing club football in Germany but moved to UK because of his mother's studies. After staying long enough in England he became eligible for them and usually gets called up by England U15-U17. Musiala is a player that doesn't even seem interested much in playing for dfb. And I was right his England interest is due to his friendships.

worst part is that he returned to Germany at 16. Had he went back a bit earlier he would never have been eligible for England.

and that's why I don't even want him for Germany. A German who doesn't want to play for Germany, what's the point of wanting such a player?

and England trolling, making him captain in a game vs Germany.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I do think it's interesting that Glatzel who is born in England and lived his whole life in England is more interested to play for Germany than someone like Musiala who came from Germany and became a citizen elsewhere after living there long enough and who then returns to Germany due to Brexit and wanting to go back to Germany for personal reasons but doesn't want to play for dfb.

Glatzel. both of his parents are German and he speaks the language and his entire family is German which he does visit.

it's why even though Glatzel is 100% English dev, can't be against his interest to play for Germany. In the end, NT choice is not about who devs who otherwise all those players who get poached by other FAs wouldn't be playing for other countries. His situation is like a lot of German-Turks, most German-Turks have 2 Turkish descent parents, so their strong ties to Turkey makes sense.

from the German-Brits, only Bennetts and Glatzel come from England and neither has any English parents, more born and raised and dev there.

your Mbi, Musiala, Nmecha bros are all players who came from Germany. Mbi and Musiala both started to play in Germany before moving to England and both returned to Germany at 16. No one can say these 2 aren't German dev or that if Germany calls them up, we poached them. Even though sometimes, some might make it seem like that would be the case. It's not, Mbi for one played in Germany until 2014, went to England for 5 years and returned at 16. Dev wise one can say these 2 are dev in both countries as young players. Had they returned later to Germany, real dev would have been done mostly by England.

I'm surprised England fans WANT Musiala, not only that but this player who's English after staying long enough is usually seen as one of their best 03s. That doesn't bode well for their 03s if that's the case. I mean is I'm surprised that any English fans would want Musiala or L.Nmecha (lived half his life in Germany) play for them when they originate from a country they see as rivals. And now Musiala will continue his dev as a player from German clubs/coaches.

I tend to think L.Nmecha made a major mistake in switching for DFB. He should have only switched for senior NT football not youth levels. Always seen people mention how it shows that Germany sucks ass at dev CFs that we needed to "poach him" from England. People make it seem like he's been called up by the ONLY relevant dfb level that is Senior NT, he hasn't been called up and he's nowhere near a call up. I also think from 98-99 we have more than enough options that we didn't even need him too. But Kuntz seems to like him and he's a regular U21 call up. Who knows maybe U21 will help him in his struggling club career. Said it before but every single German 98-99 CF has scored this season in 1BL-2BL or 1st division abroad except for 2 players Nmecha and Lauberbach..........

for his sake just imagine Nmecha is never good enough for DFB but now he can't even play for his 3rd option of Nigeria, its permanent. Should have continued playing English youth NT and then see where his career takes him.

although hard to say no to permanent cap tie at youth levels from dfb perspective. If he pans out at pro,its Germany or nothing and if he doesn't you got other options.

soon enough guys like Arp, Adeyemi, Woltemade, Beier, Moukoko, Gedikli, Matanovic etc (not going to list everyone it's long list mostly when you go 00-onwards) will all start to make career progress. Some on that list are already making some.......

speaking of those guys. Always felt like Nmecha was lured to dfb besides that he would make 2017 U21 Euro and be part of the current U21 cycle due to oh, the German Senior NT is bare of options NOW, which could be an opening soon. That's what he seems to have looked at, likely ignoring future competition. He also switched because he was bit player in England at youth levels, mostly bench. Seems to me like a player who only looks at short term.

But publicly he switched because he feels German and wants to represent his country (even more reason why I'm right that England fans should never have wanted him to play for them).

02 CF Shuranov starts the 2nd half of season with a double. Takes his tally to
34 goals in 15 games in lower U19 level. FCN U19 have good chance of promotion to highest U19 level.

seems on track to score 50+ goals, lol.

last season in U17, 13 goals in 16 games+ highest U19 level up an age group he bagged 4 goals and 1 assist in 13 games for relegated team.

for Ukraine U17-4 goals and 1 assist in 3 games
for Ukraine U18 this season 1 goal in 2 games.

seems like a player who performs everywhere he goes.

The preliminary Atlas Lions list includes 49 players who take part in training sessions between 23 and 31 March.

    includes,
Abdelhamid Sabiri, Aymen Barkok, Nassim Boujellab
    https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/20...d-for-2021-afcon-qualifier-match-against-car/

1st 2 are provisionally capped by Germany and then Boujellab was always in Moroccan program and will likely join Kutucu as 2nd German youngster in Schalke 1st team that doesn't play for Germany.

in what world does Barkok deserves a call up? He's had too many injury issues this season and hasn't played a lot. Seems to me like it's a move for future poaching....Of course they will cut down majority of players from that 49 player list but that they get called up is say we still have you in our minds.

also possible that Sabiri and Barkok don't go to the training but Morocco opening the door.

and then you got Jakobs who seems headed for Senegal poaching. What a way to shrink the German player pool and not talking about Senior NT. Jakobs, Barkok and Boujellab are all still U21-Olympics eligible for Germany.

Jakobs is not poached by Senegal. He wants to play for DFB U21 until he made a decision after U21.

I doubt he will make the senior NT tho. But U21 will help

looks like Dennis Jastrzembski was called up by Poland U20, he's provisionally capped by Germany too. I know U20 is only friendlies but can other FAs, f-off? Feels like vast majority of duals who are playing high level is either poached or massive interests to poach.

he was playing for Germany U19 back in March 2019. There has been 0 reasons to call him up to Germany U20 back in Fall since he had injury issues. But now him getting German U20 call up makes sense.

even players who are still in dfb program, others are calling them up.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

yup, Jastrzembski seems to be ditching Germany according to his bro. Although it's not permanent yet.

you can see him talking to 2 other people in the tweet.

"A heavy topic and a lot has already been said about it But I know that the person of coach Magiera fascinates him and I WANT to play For Poland ...:)"

LOL, I recall like 1 year ago his bro was certain that Dennis was going to play 2022 WC with dfb and now makes it seem like he's very Polish and is drawn by the Polish team.

Believe his parents wanted him to play for Poland but he choose dfb and now seems like he's back to Poland.

I do think it's disappointing the amount of players that ditch so easily. It feels way too opportunistic these days to play for NT. The mentality for NT has become mentality for club level, not about the club or country but the "me aspect".

and this is why I created this thread.

duals/triple nationals wasn't really a big deal a bunch of years ago so not really worth a thread but now the more you advance in age groups the more duals their are and the more poaching left and right there is or attempts left and right.

this isn't only about Senior NT, this is also about shrinking player pool for youth NT.

we will lose talents for the Senior NT too, we can't permanently cap tie everyone. So even more duals/triple will ditch in long run since these days every player wants NT career. It's already a hard task to keep players in youth levels but how long does one wait for senior NT call up when dfb has always been more slow aka show your worth and be consistent=more than 1 season, to give out call up.

I honestly can't imagine this thread in 5+ years, LOL. It'll be a lot worse than it is now.

Pro career has been shorten, the expectancy of a pro footballer is not as long as before. Before the players reached the peak at 28/29

nowadays, 28/29 are already on steep decline for most players.

Players have to show talent early, at 18/19 they have to show something at least. coaches need to judge early.

Barkok and Jastrzembski , we all know where they will be approximately. They will never be Senior NT material , let’s be honest to ourself.

you will argue things like “no body knows.” I can tell you there aren’t those type of talents .

Dual-nationals like usually prefer to play for Dfb. If they aren’t chosen or not good enough they will go for other countries.

BUT the fact in this cruel world is all about showing talent as early as possible.

jugement on talent’s potential is key. Barkok, Jastrzembski and Some others won’t be DFB Nt material... they should know as well

There are some dual nationals who switched to DFB too

Demirbay permanently switched to DFB; Voloder, Lukas Nmecha. Glatzel, Berisha , Ache ...

Germany didn’t train some of these players . I guess it’s a trend that countries are exchanging players.

apparently if Loew wants Ademi, he will choose Germany too. (Confirmed by himself) but he is barely trained or developed in Germany ... if at all

Asllani was with Kosovo U17 and he told me that he now wants to play for DFB (didn’t have a German passport before 2019)

Eren Dinkci also prefers DFB to Turkey now

concerning Shuranov, FCN U19 coach praised him for scoring like assembly line even if the competition is weaker. Next year could play higher U19 level.

Needs to gain physical strength and be more robust is what he seems to need improving on.

It looks. I know that as a kid he had to decide that these are not easy matters, but here is the case of Boenisch or Polanski. And Zylla has already decided who he wants to play for?

I remember very well how Jastrzembski left the 2000 team in which he was an important footballer, stating that he felt German. At that time I understood and respected him for honesty. But now this sudden turn ... we know what it results from.

don't really like such moves because someone who has dreamed of her since childhood won't go to the staff. At the expense of someone who verified the plans based on calculations - it's hard there and they'll take me here. It spoils the atmosphere and opens the gate to the next undecided.

lmao, they poached him in U15-U16 and now are making a fuss because a German-Pole went to dfb and came back to them.

if you don't want "mercenaries" to your NT than don't poach duals who are born and raised elsewhere and who Poland has done 0 dev wise.

at this point, the number of German-Poles that don't play for Poland is smaller one.

we seem to have more and more German-Frenchies (most are also African descent too).

-Leroy Sane is German-Senegal and his father was also French citizen. Also means 03-Sidi Sane is also all 3.
-98 Chabot, who France were reported to be interested in last season. Of course that ain't happening and competition there is huge.
-01 Bella Kotchap, was born in France but 100% dev in Germany. Started playing in Germany in 2005 with Rot Weiss Essen. His father is ex senior Cameroon NT player, Cyrille Bella was playing in Germany from 98-08.
-02 Irorere was born in France but seems to be fully dev in Germany, no idea what African country for him though. Irorere along with 02 Otto are viewed as potential 1st team players for Frankfurt which was confirmed numerous times.

we are also seeing bit more and more German-Senegalese.
the Sane bros, Thiaw, Jakobs, which is interesting since Senegalese people usually go to France. Although from the 4, Sane's father did go to France but then played in Germany and married a German woman. But yeah rare to see Senegalese descent footballers who are also German but we are seeing some in younger age groups.

always interesting when we see guys like Bella-Kotchap, Sanogo, Herrmann, etc who are all kids of foreign players who played and lived in Germany. Even kids like Robben, Ribbery, Pizarro etc are likely all German eligible if they ever make the pros.

05 CB Julian Pauli seems German-Brit according to Bild. So far is dfb international.

► Pauli was born in London, grew up in Düsseldorf and has dual citizenship. A real blue chip in today's turbo-capitalized football world. Pauli is currently attending the 9th grade of the international school in Kaiserswerth. And that's where his football fairy tale began. Pretty late...

    The plan with Shuranov
In Nuremberg, one is rather reserved when it comes to one of the bigger talents. Erik Shuranov has scored over 30 goals for Club U-19 this season at the age of 18. He should continue to score these goals there if the season continues at some point. "He's in good hands there," says Wiesinger, "we have a plan with him. "The plan is: Shuranov should score goals for the professionals in the not so distant future, but may still develop holistically until then.
