But they still give zero points for a miss.

71' 2-0 Horan receives at arc top left, rushes a shot high.

72' 2-0 Lloyd receives at box top left post, does a turn-and-drag past Houghton, shoots left foot across mouth rising, skims just over crossbar 1/4 right.

74' 2-0 Mewis dribbles away from Duggan to 25m center, diagonal pass sends Rapinoe to 2m mid-left -- she's offside.

75' 2-0 USA steal in England's 1/3, promptly exchange square passes. Mewis turns at arc top right, diagonal pass toward box right hits Hemp's left wrist high with upper arm tucked against her body but forearm flapping. Handball.

76' 2-0 USA fk at arc top right, Rapinoe shoots way over bar.

I take back what I said-- the new blue kits are sharp. I didn't like the lighter blue squiggle pattern in the promotional photos, but on pitch they are quite attractive.

Enjoy watching televised games in Exploria Stadium. The grass is always immaculate, and the camera angle is lower to the ground, so it's easier to see the on-field subtleties. Red Bull Arena has a much higher camera angle and you gain a bigger overhead picture of the pitch but you miss the smaller things.

Press wins WNT Goal of the Year so far. Despite Lloyd's finish, I don't want us to put all our CF eggs in one basket. Press should get minutes there. Williams is an option. As mentioned earlier in the thread, I think Dunn and Horan could fit that role. Dunn as the slashing runner, Horan as a target and battler with finesse touch.

At this point, Rapinoe is a clear supersub to me.

Once more we prove that no one works on free kicks enough. That ball over the top was disgusting.

Rapinoe's time has passed. She's given up two turnovers when she had easy passing options available.

Is it just me or does Rapinoe look fast and young again.

Same. I hope she is USWNT captain for the next cycle (2021-2024) once the current vets retire post-Olympics.

Limiting her minutes helps. That's why I think she is a better sub than starter at this point.

No minutes for Krieger, Harris or Sonnett in front of their home fans.

77' 2-0 Telford short restart(?) to own wide left, USA high press steals. Lloyd settles at 2m wide (our) right, crosses to 3m 6-top, Houghton volleys away, ball pops up to 15m right post. Ertz runs on and chests a high bounce into own stride, follows to 12m but rushes a hop-volley high.

78' 2-0 England subs in (3 of 6) #9 Bethany England for #18 Ellen White.

79' 2-0 Lloyd slips a pass to Ertz somehow way up behind England's flank at arc top box right -- but Houghton stepped up past arc top center and bags her offside. Ertz dribbles alone through box top right to 13m mid-right, blasts right foottop golaaaaazo into center back high. Doesn't count, but good technique :)

82' 2-0 Nobbs crosses from ~12m wide right to Beth England in a seam at 12m left post. England knocks ball down, crowded right roundhouse half-volley on the bounce just over crossbar center.

Lloyd going 90 means we probably get another starter up top for the next game.

If I were to pick a team from all the players worldwide she would be my first pick. She just makes any defense she anchors much better. She, right now, is the best player in the world. Now if she could only get her finishing touch that she had earlier in her carer back then I would suggest simply cloning her for every position except, maybe, goalkeeper and I think she would do a decent job even there.

A little off-topic, but which non-England players do you think will be included in Team GB this summer?

Little and Fishlock obviously, if healthy. Beattie, Weir, Cutherbert or Ross are other Scottish players that could maybe break in. Sophie Ingle of Wales had that amazing volley goal in the English WSL which put her on my radar. I know nothing about Northern Ireland.

With such a small roster though, it may end up being almost all England players.

Each team is allowed six substitutes per game at the SheBelieves Cup.

    And right on cue:

89' 2-0 USA subs in (4 of 6) #22 Jessica McDonald for #1 Carli Lloyd.
89' 2-0 England subs in (4 of 6) #22 Chloe Kelly for #7 Nikita Parris.

FT. 2-0. Some sloppy attempts at finishing in the first half, but overall, a good, solid win against a good team. And that's the tea.

90+3' (of +3') 2-0 Nobbs(?) chases up wide right, Sauerbrunn slide-tackles into touch.

90+3' (of +3') 2-0 England ping around, but don't get closer than 27m.

FT 2-0. I think Foudy spaced out and said "they[England]'re a class above the United States" instead of "they[USA]'re a class above England", twice in one sentence.

Exactly. I think it will be mostly the English WNT with the addition of maybe 2-3 others, same as it was in 2012.

Ertz was the player of the game in my opinion. Sauerbrunn might have been second, except that she had one dumb turnover.

Lloyd proved she could play a full 90 -- which keeps her leading in the competition as the starting center forward.
